Grabber
I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet, but 2 months ago on my 49th Birthday I couldn't help but start the 5 year countdown in the back of my mind. My goal to hit this date is on track and currently solid. I just hope the economy allows me to work at least 1000 hours a year so my pension can be activated. I'm looking forward to my 54th Birthday more than any other birthday. 58 working months left.http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20160701T00&p0=3237&ud=2&font=cursive&csz=1 Edited June 16, 2016 by Grabber Fixed link

John Guyer
Dear Mr Grabber, I retired for the first time at 48, it took me three times for it to finally stick. You have to have the proper attitude for retirement. I have learned how to answer the "what do you do?" question with, "Nothing" and feel good about it. Glenn Greenwell
Awesome Rob hope it works out for you bud...I did it last year when I turned 50 I had mixed feelings about it at the time but looking back it's the best move I've ever made again good luck. I am glad to see I am not the only one struggling with this. I'll be 58 in October and am ready to pull the plug at the end of this year. The decision to retire is a scarey one. I asked my dad a couple of years ago awhen he was 79 how he made the decision to retire, he said glenn I just woke up one day and decided I didn't want to work anymore. He retired as a USAF Chief Mastersergeant. Retirement scares me to death just thinking about it, but you have to think that one is better trying to retire when you can still enjoy life and some quality time with your family before you get to old and the natural aging process catches up with you. Just my thoughts.. GG Edited March 1, 2010 by TAPD117

Andrew DeSpirito
I've only got 38 years and 2 months left until I can retire with full benefits....should I start counting down? Edit: That's about 9,611 working days, not counting weekends or holidays. Wow. That's seriously depressing!
