Strut Brace and Springs

 Does anybody know for sure whether a KR strut brace part #20201-C will fit a 2010 Gt500, if you replace intake resonator with JLT intake tube? Any pictures?

FRPP or Ebach springs, lowering 1 - 1 1/2 inches--camber plates required at all?? or just springs? :headscratch:

Yes, it absolutely will. You just have to use the spacers. If they don't come with your STB, call Jay at JLT and he will sell them to you for about $8 I believe. I know that it will fit cuz I have it on my car!

I have installed this strut tower brace on my 2010 GT500 with the JTL cold air intake tube and two of the JLT strut tower brace spacers. However, I did need to grind the bottom of the short brace a small amount for a little extra clearance.

I don't know first hand but from everything I read/hear it will not fit without *some* kind of modification. Spacers under the mounts, grinding under the brace or lowering the motor with spacers.

FRPP has a new STB for the 2010+ models now. Looks ugly by itself but looks pretty wicked (IMO) mounted over the SC. Another TS member mounted one on his car and posted the pic here. I've posted it in another thread and I will repost on this one for your viewing pleasure.

Personally, I was going to forego the STB on my 2010 until I saw the new one mounted.

Just my own opinion,

Thanks for the information and pictures. Sorry to hear about your crash. I'm sure it will come back better than ever. Looks like you have done exactly what I was thinking, with the brace, caps, JLT, etc. Also, the stock-looking pulley and tune. What can you tell me about that and how do you like it? :shift:

Just use camber bolts if all you're doing is lowering springs. They work great, they're cheaper, and they get the job done. If you feel the need in the future to adjust caster then get c/c plates.

I bought my camber bolts from Ingalls.

You might consider an adjustable panhard bar too to get the rear end in line (lowering can throw the rear end off). I got mine and installed it when I did the springs. I don't know whether or not it's actually necessary (some have argued that you can go without it). So you can do the springs and see what happens.

Does anybody know whether this KR Strut tower brace 20201c will fit a 2010 with the FR 'Resonator Eliminator' kit?

I can also confirm that it will NOT fit with the stock setup. If you go with a JLT carbon fiber tube, and you use the spacers that JLT will provide for the STB, it WILL fit... Justin

Installed JLT carbon fiber tube and strut bar with spacers and Roush caps.
