WARNING…Current E-bay Auction for 2007 GT-H CSM#187

Item number: 150416717618

This post is just to inform TS members and not to pass judgment on the car or the seller

I purchased a GT-H from this person in Nov. ’08.

I want to make one thing VERY CLEAR, the car I received was as described in the ad, that is to say the CSM #, overall condition and the mileage was correct and that I have not had any issues with the car or the seller.

This is my problem with the current ad on E-bay for the GT-H CSM#187….

Three of the photos in this auction, are the identical photos of the car that was in the auction that I won in Nov. “08!

I am referring to the following 3 pictures, the one in front of the house, the one in the driveway and the one in front of the garage. These 3 pictures are there to show the physical condition of the exterior and the straight body work.

When my auction was over, I downloaded all the pictures and the description from the auction and saved them in my “Shelby file”. Now either I did not get the car that was in the pictures in my auction, OR the winner of the current auction will be getting the car that I thought I was getting 15 months ago. What I am saying is that these 3 three pictures cannot possibly represent my GT-H AND CSM#187. I just want to CAUTION anyone from Team Shelby who is considering bidding on this auction that they may actually want to go and inspect this car before bidding.

As I said, my car was in the condition that was outlined in the description, and I have had no issues then or now with the car.

You can obtain the vin for this car by looking closely at the auction pics. Some sales "puffery" especially when he mentions the "extras" that he feels only a few cars have.

Interesting to note that he shows a photo of the permanent dash plaque but I don't see the certificate that came with the dash plaque in any of the photos. I just checked and this car is not registred with us. No problem with that except he should have not been sent the permanent dash plaque without registering the car frst. I'll need to discuss with Roger how that happened.

Rear wing is correct.

Potential buyers will have to use thir judgement to decide if a car with 42k miles is worth $30k

No Vin would make me think twice. Are you saying that ypu already Purchased CSM #187 and they are trying to sell it again...a FAKE

No not at all, I purchased #15, What I am saying is that the 3 pictures of the exterior cannot be #187, as they are the same pictures as when I bought #15, 15 months ago.

hese 3 pictures are not car #187 with 42,000 miles on it.. Do not be fooled by yhe clean and straight body and the "perfrct" Stripes. These 3 pictures are not of CSM #187!

Hello Just bought that #187. The seller of that car bought 8 cars out of 100 Shelby GT-H cars from a person he knows that bought them as a lot. He purchase the best 8 out of these cars. Your #15 must be one of them. That could be a reason why he is using the same pictures since they all look the same. Also it is currently winter in Indiana so summer pictures are better for selling . Also he did not want to put the vin on ebay for privacy. My car still has the original hertz tittle.will be transfer to my name soon ...need to go through Canadian inspection before changing title name. The fact that 100 cars were bought has a lot gave the owner a privilege to have paperwork. Please , i understand your anxiety but before posting, just give Mike a call ( his phone number is on the ad) and he will give you the Ford serial # and you will be able to buy a carfax like i did. The seller had nothing to hide as of the car condition. I had him go to the Ford dealer to have the OASIS report and he did. Everybody just have to do a phone call to have details so please call.

Dont get me wrong , i really appreciate any warning as you did. My only problem is all the other posting that add-up and are not legitimate.

As for the $30k value, it is up to everyboby to decide what they worth since we will find out only in many years from now. But i do beleive that any " SHELBY" will go up in value with time. I think that we better buy them now as they are affordable and available . Most of them will end up in collectors hand so their will be less cars available. Also nobody want Caroll Shelby to die but like any other legends , as soon as they dies , every items that are related to them goes up in value ! Just hope that Caroll will live as long as possible but this is a fact .

What i like about these cars is that their is a story behind them . The Shelby modifications and non availability to the public make these cars unique!

I also own #245 .

How can i get the original invoice for that car ? shelby invoice, Ford invoice and dash plate ? Bought the car 3 weeks ago and looking for these paperwork.

thanks , Sylvain

Sylvain, Welcome to the Team Shelby forums and even more so for becoming a member of the Team Shelby club.

You make valid points. I think the OP's concern was that pictures of his car were being used to advertise another car. I understand why a seller may do this but it would be in everyones best interest if the seller disclosed that in their auction.

Hertz put the factory paperwork in each car before it was sent to auction so if the seller is claiming he got special treatment for buying 8 cars, well I guess I disagree with that statement.

Like any car sale, if the sellers happy and the buyer is happy then thats all that matters.

Sylvain, When your register the car with Team Shelby you will receive the metal dash plaque and some other goodies. The Hertz paperwork, if not already claimed by the seller, can be obtained by sending an e-mail to SFleske@hertz.com Registering the car is important to maintain a paper trail in the event the cars do go up in value in later years. Also, have your registered car #245. Hope this helps. Enjoy the car and drive it !!! regards Larry Miller

Sylvain, congratulations on your purchase, I am sure you will be very happy with your car because you did all of the right things before buying the car.

Mike told me the same story about the 8 cars etc. and I have no reason not to believe him.

Again all I was trying to do was warn TS members that some of the pictures in the auction may not have been of #187.

We all know the issues with the stripes and we read some of the stories about the rental cars hard life in the fleet. The pictures in the ad depict a very clean car and that they might not be pictures of the actual car…..

I am not even sure if the pictures I saw in Nov. are even of my car- Only Mike knows.

As I wrote….

This post is just to inform TS members and not to pass judgment on the car or the seller

I purchased a GT-H from this person in Nov. 08.

I want to make one thing VERY CLEAR, the car I received was as described in the ad, that is to say the CSM #, overall condition and the mileage was correct and that I have not had any issues with the car or the seller.

Again, Congrats and many years of happy Shelby ownership

Rich

Can we see a picture of both 187 and 245 together????

Hello , thanks for the good words . Sorry i was late to answer but i tought that i was gonna receive an email telling me that someone add a post to my subject . Suddently i saw all those posting !!

Spoke to Mike about the picture and he appologize . He said , you know i am not a computer guy. I use to have 3 secretaries in my business and give them all my computer stuff . I asked my wife to post my ad on ebay. I took some pictures of the car then gave her the camera and ask her to post my ad. I is possible that the GT-H pictures got side by side with some of the others one i had before !

I got the car and the car is in super condition . Stripe are also perfect.

But again Rich , i got your point . I know that you wanted to advise TS members for the pictures and IT IS OK to do so. My point is that after that said , it is everybody job to give the seller a call to find out what wrong , not post some kind of supposition..

I had both cars outside and took pictures of them . Took some time to be able to do it...a lot of people stopped by to ask questions what they were !! Never seen other Shelby GT-H in Quebec !

I need your help to be able to post the pictures . How do i do that ? my pictures are 1024 X 768

I am trying , if it does not work give me some trick !

( sorry for my english i am a french guy ! )

Sylvain
