License Plate on CS6/8 front fascia

CSstang

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Spring is just over a month away (mind you it is snowing in Ottawa this morning  ) and I've decided this is the year I'm going to try and put a front plate on my CS8. In Ontario you have to have a front plate on your car and I've been able to escape the fine for 2 years, but I can only run for so long...

I've been trying to find a way to mount it without having to drill holes in the front fascia, but no luck so far... anything I've found has to mount to the fascia in some way and the only thing I can think of is to make my own bracket (which would be a pain) and have it mount to something more solid than the fascia.

I just want to know what you guys in the 2-plate states/provinces have done... trying to avoid having to go with the holes

Thanks!

Kevin

Have it on both of my cars. On the Terlingua, which I believe is the same fascia I did a little more underneth the car to make the mount work a little better since there is not much to mount to. I used the underbody plate from a SGT and filled in the gap with some sheet metal. It worked very well and now you don't see the ground when you look through the lower grill.

we only have to have the rear plate in SK but I'd be interested in what you think of them if you get one Kevin as sooner or later I'll be moving province.

Thanks for the info! If the weather permits I'll take the car out of storage early and work on it at home. Great to hear of a solution that works well without too much modification.

Going to order one shortly so I'll let you know how it looks.

Leann, were you able to mount it directly to something that is already under there?

To be honest, I didn't put it on....Shelby did when they did the Terlingua conversion....if I remember right, Bud said they had to fab a mounting bracket of some sort. But, it is really the ticket and no holes were drilled into the fascia. It only took SAI about 30 minutes to put it on. Hope this helps...
