Question regarding your Adjustable Eibach Suspensions

Recommended Posts

I was curious how the ride comfort was with the optional adjustable suspension and how it performs, any odd noises, excessive tire wear?

Any idea if the kit retains the factory upper strut mounts?

It seems the kit costs about $1,100

Curious what everyone has to say about it.

I have the FR3 kit on my car now and the ride height has never been satisfactory to me, the ride is great but it seems that my car never sits even from one side to another front to back and I have heard adjustable is the only way to dial it in perfectly

thanks

do the coil overs come pre set for a certain ride height or do you have to adjust it? If so, what did you all set it at?

Were you able to retain the factory upper strut mounts for the alignment or do you need aftermarket caster camber plates or whats the deal for getting it aligned

thanks

Hey Chuck the coilovers do reuse the upper strut mounts or you can do camber plates. Either way it does not include the upper mounts so you need some. The camber plates maybe necessary if you lower the front enough to prevent the camber from remaining in spec.

you set them for what you want, the SS come with a certain setting from shelby or the mod shops, its up to you but you can make sure the car is level easily.

i am using stock plates but did not slam it to the ground...

There are actually 3 different set-ups. All coilovers.

1- pro-street

2- r1

3- r2

1- is height adjustable

2- is heightable and bound and rebound( firmness) adjustable.

3- is height adjustable, bound and rebound ( firmness) adjustable and built it resevoires. Better adjustability for the bound and rebound. Way to much for the average street car.

hope this helps.

parts numbers

1- 35115.711

2- 35115.712

3- 35115.713

hey bc what is the max you can lower with these f/r. thanks.

Hey there. Sorry, I am not sure what the maximum is. I know that the car sits much more level now than compared to the stock GT500 set up. So the way SAI have it set, the rear has been lowered more than the front. My car is in winter storage, so I can't measure for you. I haven't changed it since I got it home. I put about 700 miles on it before parking it for the winter. The SAI set up feels pretty good. I won't know if I want to change anything unitl I track the car a bit this summer.

Cheers

Brett

Chuck, are you putting this on the '11?

I am looking at this or the Steeda set up for either my car or the 2011 which I have decided is not a definite go, but I was thinking don' dothe SVT Performance package and just install your own coil over kit.

I had heard of coil over resevoir problems on one model but I cant remember which, may have been Steeda.

I like the Steeda because you can use their CC plates which I already own.

You guys with the Eibach kit, any issues running the stock Upper strut mounts? Maybe would work with my steeda's?

  • 3 weeks later...

hey gt500 rocks; when you say just cant go too low with rears, do you mean there is not enough adjustment to lower it enough or

if you lower it to much something will rub ?

the latter, since the rears are coil springs on an adjustable mount, they use very short springs, if you go too low all kinds of things will happen, i went to a level i thought LOOKED the best, but driving it to RI i was bouncing off the bump stops at every dip or pothole, so i asked Dennis Gomes what they set the super-snakes at and did that, been fine ever since, but doesn't look as low as i thought looked best. so it was a compromise. its the problem with not having the IRS in the rear...
