MichaelP
Hi Everyone- Im going to the drag strip (first time) and taking a performance driving school course this spring. It was recommended that I get some type of Drag Radial tire for my car that I can use on the strip. I would like to use my stock rims and be able to drive to the track and drive home, instead of changing rims or towing the car. I found some Nitto Invo's that look like they will fit front and rear. It does not look like they are technically considered drag radials. Are there any other tire options I should look at if I want to keep the stock look of my car? Thanks! lawdude
As far as I know there is no drag radial for the 19 inchers that come on the 2010s. I just ordered two 18 X 10 wheels and some Mickey Thompsons to put on the back.

lawdude
I wanted to order the 18" replicas from American Muscle. I called to order the 18X10s yesterday, told them I have a 2010 Shelby and wanted to put them on the rear. I was told categorically they would not fit. I ended up ordering wheels from Lethal Performance. Not an OEM match but I'm only using them for the track: http://www.lethalper...-5711_6008_6662 Best price I could find for two Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials (305 /35-18) was Summit Racing. $596.91 shipped. Five Oh B
While I don't own a GT500, my supercharged '07 Mustang GT is slightly quicker than a stock 07/09 GT500 and I have great success with BFG's drag radials. At 18-19 psi, and warmed up, they hook awesome with absolutely no spin. BFG makes 18" sizes, but I'm not sure about 19's.

I put out feelers for a couple of vert wheels on a couple of forums including this one. No nibbles.
Torched10
Ive been to those schools and i just used the tires on my car (vette).Unless your looking for a perefct launch, with no tire spin,id just feather it coming off the line.Youll still burn in 2nd and 3rd,but unlss your planning on running alot at the track, im not sure its worth it. Im sure other posters will disagree, but just my opinion. Also, not sure how drag radials would do on a road/performance track either

This could be a real possibility here with 18's in back on a 2010 so long as the tire height is the same. Would you even really notice the difference in rim size if you had the right tire? I'd love to see a side pic of this...

MichaelP
Are you leaving the 19's up front and putting the 18's in back with drag radials? I don't think I'm going to leave the 19's in front unless the dealer selling me the new tires and wheels can make that combo work. I was planning on 18's front and rear. m. You might want to consider the new Nitto NT05R drag radials. I heard these hook extremely well and are offered in 285/40/18 with the same diameter as the stock rears (27 in). You can get them from Discount Tire for $550 shipped. I plan to order a set for my GT before spring. NT05R

I have a GT, so they will go on my CS69s you see in my sig. They are coming out with a 19 inch in this tire (345/30/19), but it will require a fairly wide rim as it calls for a 12-13.5 inch on the Nitto website.
