mad103
Does anybody know, what makes that beautiful sound on the high end Cervini Mustangs? I know they are supercharged, but I never heard anything like that. It sounds like my F250 diesel. And when it takes off, it just sounds crazy. Here is a youtube link to a video and here is the link to their webpage (play the sound clip and hear the mustic, at least IMO its mustic) https://www.cervinis.com/Default.aspx :happy feet:
RUFDRAFT
It sounded good in the garage - but on the website, what's up with that racket you hear when he backs off the throttle?? In the garage, it sounds similar to my Bassanis.

The sound I like is the kinda whistle/but not whistle (if that makes any sense  ) I have an F250 with a Turbo Diesel, its similar to that sound when you give it gas. yea the racket sound weird but when it takes off it sounds super fast. RUFDRAFT
Do a search here for Octoberfest - that's a thread wherein Orf posted some video of my car, his car (Corsas) and Mastersmech1's car (stock 500) exhaust. Or - search the Shelby off-topic threads for Ruf's Dyno thread. Might be 3-8 pages into the thread. There's a short video there of my first dyno pulls. Oooh. Never put gas in a diesel engine. I know the sound you speak of. I hear it when I drive my diesel Excursion.

What happens is between shifts, when the throttle briefly shuts, you have a supercharger spinning at 50,000+ RPM pressurizing a small length of pipe between it and the throttle plate. At this instant the pressue will spike dramatically and force its way backwards through the impeller. Keep doing it (cuz you think it sounds cool) and you'll be rebuilding a supercharger very soon. The cure is to get a blow-off valve (a different kind of sound entirely) or a recirc valve that allows the pressure surge to dissipate safely.
