breoland
Im kinda curious about the traction issues everyopne has with the super snakes and regular gt500. what i was wondering is everyone that is complaing that the 20in wheels are not wide enough, has anyone changed the upper and lower control arms yet? from what i understand the stock bushings are terrible from the factory and need to be replaced and also the pinion angle of the rear is slightly off. So by replacing the upper and lower control arms and getting the ones that adjust, would probably help plant the tires to the ground. I plan on picking up a set with race ends for my gt500 to help correct these issues, i understand they are going to be a lil noisy but will help out planting the the best. let me know what you guys have done or if you have not done anything yet

texaggie
Had the Ford racing Handling pack installed before I even drove the car. I recently added new wheels 18 x 9 front and 18 x 10 rear FR500 wheels with Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position tires. Grips like crazy.

me32
What effect does replacing the bushings have on ride quality? its gonna have a tab bit more HVH, but most never even notice it, unless you have stock exhaust an never listen to the radio. when i went to the J&M UCA and LCA, it really didnt add much NVH at all. the only thing i noticed was just a very small tad of little bit gear whine
TexasShelby
What effect does replacing the bushings have on ride quality? Depends on the material used. Some do offer up a softer ride, but I don't know which ones. I replaced mine back in early 07 with BMR LCAs and adj. panhard, along with Steeda springs for the vert. Made all the difference in handling, but not much in the area of traction, other than no more wheel hop.

Secondo
What effect does replacing the bushings have on ride quality? I hardly noticed a difference except slowly driving into an uneven surface like a driveway, the suspension felt stiffer. My suspension is stock other than the bushings. ShelbyDFW
How hard are thesee bushings to replace? Any special tools, etc?
Secondo
How hard are thesee bushings to replace? Any special tools, etc? Nut/bolt operation to remove/install the control arms and you'll need a torch or holesaw to remove the stock bushings. You'll need 18 and 21mm sockets and wrenches. I didn't mind the work but would be a much easier job to just buy new control arms with the good bushings already in them and just swap the arms FYI. Edit: Welcome to Team Shelby!
