FiaCobra
Check out this thread on how to remove the airbag cover. Also a couple of posts on not doing anything to protect it. http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php?/topic/3458-airbag-cover-removeable/ Yes, read that thread but don't forget "Fuse #17" Guys, the task is relatively easy, however, most are forgetting to remove the 10a fuse that controls the airbag circuit. If you look in a Ford manual, removal of this fuse is part of the process. The fuse is located on the right side of the passenger foot well (kick panel) There's a small access cover that pops off. You'll find a small fuse block. Fuse # 17 (10a) is the airbag circuit. Simply remove the fuse before removing the neg battery cable. Turn the key in the on position and you should see the airbag warning light stay lit. If so, you pulled the correct fuse. Now remove the key, disconnect the neg battery cable and remove the airbag as previously instructed.
