How many of us use an IPhone? I am posting this on mine...but the aspect ratios could be fixed in an app made for it.

If TS could be pursuaded, how many of you would even use it? It wouldn't be hard to develop at all, and would be good free advertising through the apple app store. Just a thought...

I vote yea!

Not hard to develop. Apple approval is another issue all together.

Though an app isn't needed.

What's needed is the makers of this board software to check the browser version and when an iPhone connects switch to an alternative version. If you want to see that at work check out CNN.COM on your computer and then on the iPhone. You can get to the main CNN site on the iPhone if you wish but the default is an iPhone friendly HTML version.

No app approval or big development effort needed.

Don't create that replicates an iPhone function, a porn app, an app that steals customer data in some way, an app that uses Apple only API's, or Apple trademarks in a way that's not allowed, and it should be fine!

Well, I have an Android based phone (HTC Hero), so an Iphone app wouldnd do me any good. I like the idea however and TS is a real PAIN on my phone.

So either a mobile web site, or apps for both Iphone and Android would be great.

Ok, did a little research:

Today who ever maintains this forum can go to the AdminCP and set the User Agent settings area so that people will get the lo-fi version of the site when it's hit from any number of the mobile browsers (iPhone/Safari (aka Webkit), Android/Chrome (aka WebKit) or Blackberry, etc.). That would provide a far better and faster user experience on a mobile device than we have today. That said we should also be able to switch back to the desktop skin if desired because you do loose a lot in the current low-fi skin when you use it.

I did discover that the makers of this board software are working on a new mobile skin which is even better, which will be free to users, but it's not available yet. It is however a generic skin so it's not optimized for anything and just an update of sorts to the above low-fi skin.

There is however a GREAT iPhone/Android skin for this board software that is FAR FAR better than what the makers of this board are working on, even they say so, check out:

At a price of $10 I think this would be a fine addition to the site if there are no other issues it raises, aka fine print and compatibility.
