2010KonaBlueGT
I have had and asked a couple of questions regarding the 2010 version of the Shelby GT500 Super Snake. So far, no one has been able to answer them. I just found this vid on utube of a 2010 SS and it answers at least one of the questions I had regarding the lack of center dash gauges not showing on the SAI site promo pics. This video (slide-show) shows that it has the gauges on the A-piller and in fact it shows them pretty well. It also shows the SS headrests, not *covers*. I also note that it has the stock/OEM shifter knob rather than the new Super Snake striped knob shown in the 2009 Shelby Driving Machines magazine. Also note the center console SS plague that Shelby claims they don't make for the 2010's. It also shows the Shelby/FRP 2.9L 750HP supercharger under the hood instead of the KB 2.8L SC. I'm wondering if that means Shelby is getting away from the Kenne Bell 2.8L SC and going with the 50-state legal FRP offering instead. It still does not address my questions regarding the lack of side-scoops and the lack of front brake vents/ducts in the grill. We can assure you Shelby is "not getting away from" Kenne Bell by any stretch of the imagination. In fact we have some really cool surprises coming up for the new year with Shelby. We also have 50 state legal status on all our 2010 Mustang kits, so not to worry. The FRP 2.9 is listed as an option. http://www.shelbyautos.com/vehicles/2010SS.asp Regards, Ken

Rather than speculate we want to provide you with correct and most accurate information. - The center console plate in only available, at this time, for the production 2010 Super Snakes in conversion. Quantities have not been produced, at this time, for a run of VIN specific plates for personal signature. We will have them and do not have a time frame as to when they will be available. - Side scoop omission is a design decision. - The front brake ducts are there and functional. A design change in the "newly designed" front splitter places the intakes below the splitter. - Kenne Bell is a major partner with the Shelby Brand and we are installing the Kenne Bell product. As posted by our vendor there are some exciting options on there way. There are options available, which were not optional until the 2010 model year. The supercharger shown in our concept vehicle is the Shelby/Ford Racing/Whipple 3.4 L unit. - Due to the customer positive customer feedback on the stock shift know, we have adapted this to our builds. The stock shift mechanism is replaced by the Shelby 6 speed billet shifter as a standard part of our 2010 Super Snake package. Hopefully this clears some confusion. 2010KonaBlueGT
Phil, If you have any questions regarding the 2010 Super Snake or it's contents, please feel free to contact me personally Who do I ask for? I was planning on stopping in at Shelby/LV on Friday Dec. 18th to take a 10:30 tour (with my 11 year old grandson). Will you be at SAI in Vegas on that date? I travel between CO and CA every 3 months. Our first stop is always at the Virgin River Inn in Mesquite (~90 minutes from SAI) so I pass right by Shelby on the way to hwy. 58. I'm just not sure if the weather is going to allow me to travel the northern rte. (I-70/I-15). If it's snowed in I take I-40 and don't stop in LV so plans are tenetive at best. Or do you mean to contact you personally via e-mail? Thanks in advance, Phill Pollard - Co. Robert M
Robert, both are options. What are the h.p. ratings Whipple 3.4 vs. 2.9? Thanks, Robert
2010KonaBlueGT
What are the h.p. ratings Whipple 3.4 vs. 2.9? Thanks, Robert I noticed that on the Ford Racing Parts page the 2.9L is listed at 750HP but the Shelby brochure & literature all says 730HP (as the 'high HP' option). EDIT: I stand corrected. It is the 2.3L that lists different HP numbers on the FRPP site vs. the SAI site. 660HP (FRP) vs. 630HP (SAI). I'm not sure if the Shelby material just hasn't been updated to match the FRP ratings or if the Shelby tune is less than the FRP tune (re: 630HP v. 660HP). But if the FRP 2.9L is listed at 750HP (by Ford), I would imagine that the 3.4L is going to be considerably more. I was hoping to meet with Roger when I visited SAI but no such luck. That would'a been one of the questions I had for him. Oh well, Phill Pollard 2010 GT500

Robert M
In reply to my own post above, I may finally understand more about these bigger blowers and power output. From what I read about the new KB 3.6L blower, it will put out the same power as the 2.8L but at half the boost. So, this tells me that this 3.4L Whipple may be larger, but the main attraction is that it will create the same h.p. as a smaller blower, but at much less boost. Of course it can be modified I presume, as can the 2.8 KB, but the key is, less boost. R
