JLMELTON
Has anyone changed their stipes?? I've looked and looked for a set of new stripes (non-Knock off's) and I can't find anything except for the convertable. Want to get a complete red stripe kit instead of the Black on Black I have now. J 2010 GT500 Black w/ Black stripes That's one fine looking automobile. I love red and black too, but I might be a little prejudiced since I'm a Georgia fan. 2nd2none
I had to replace a portion of stripe on my rear bumper. that 1 little piece from the dealer was about $125. It might actually be cheaper to get painted instead of trying to get a full kit from a dealership
blkGT500nCA
Painting wasn't cheap when I looked into it. Think about the stripes. The over the top ones touch the front bumper, hood, roof, deck lid, and rear bumper. Then the side stripe ones touch the front fender, doors, and the rear 1/4 panel. Congratulations, you just repainted your entire car after the stripes and the re-clear. And to do it right you need to remove all of the glass, door handles, LOTS of trim, washer nozzles, grill, etc. You get where I'm going. It adds up quick. Especially if you really want to do it right and paint the stripes in the door jams, under the hood, and inside of the trunk lid, it really gets expensive. Now if you took the time and did all of the disassembly yourself you could probably save quite a bit. Maybe even give the car an entire sand down, then you could lay out the stripes your self too. Probably save a lot. I paid $350 for new vinyl. Paint was over $3K!
SVT NAJA
Your Shelby looks great! I would think twice about changing it. Having said that, I looked into getting painted stripes on my 10 stripe delete and a recommended shop in Novato quoted $4k+ for the treatment outlined above. But most interesting was the manager's comment that "he would not paint the stripes" on the car IF it was his Shelby. He agreed that if it had stripes, and the tape WAS becoming a problem, then yes he would paint them on and clearcoat.

J 2010 GT500 Black w/ Black stripes You might open a big can of worms that you wished you'd never done. Find somebody who can lay them on the car straight and even with no bubbles. I lemon lawed my old Shelby because of stripping issues. FIVE MONTHS OF PURE HELL! Just a little heads up, that's all
Torched10
if you paint the stripes, plan on keeping the car a long time. You'll get killed on a re-sale if you dont use factory striping. As I recall the stripe kit was like $1500--id get them from the dealer you bought from and tell them you want them at dealer cost.Theres all kind of laser beam line-up gear required and not sure most places have what's needed.I know theres one Ford dealer here in Atl that does it.If it were me,id find a qualiifed Ford dealer and get it done--PS youre car looks great now IMHO

I have a Sterling Gray with the Silver Stripes, but may temporarily swap to the flat black if it looks good! Much appreciated.

J 2010 GT500 Black w/ Black stripes I just saw a e-bay auction for a Super Snake stripe kit. His item description says it doesn't include the side stripes but gives his URL is you want them. I ASSUME that if he sells SS stripes, he'll make GT500 stripes. I ran a search for 2010 Shelby GT 500 and then again with GT500 (no space). I can't remember which one got me to the SS stripe kit but try 'em both and you'll find him. Frankly, I was a little surprised that Shelby hasn't closed him down...yet. Try that with anything Harley-Davidson related and the MoFoMoCo will be all over yer ass. Oh, his picture showed a black stripe kit but if he can make black, he can make any color. It might actually be cheaper to get painted instead of trying to get a full kit from a dealership Did you mean it $125 for only one side of the stripe that covers the 2010 rear bumper? Would that mean it would be $250 for a full replacement of the rear bumper stripe i.e. both sides? Did that include installation?
