Roush GR40
Hertz is a client of my ad agency and when the GT-H was launched they gave us all a limited edition 1:18 diecast of the Shelby GT-H. I did some research on line and find these readily available, but my packaging is very different that what I have found. I was told that a small quantity were made specfically for Hertz executives and this is what I have Please see photo below and let me know if this is something special. Thanks. The details on the car are absolutely incredible.
Jody
Your car is different, it has Carol's autograph on the roof. It has a special edition box also. It's a keeper, unless you want to give it to me
gene64cobra
how can u see that signature. the picture is to dark. that is the same car but that package was only offered to hertz employes, they could purchase if wanted for about 18. every now and then one will pop up on ebay with that package. it is very nice. i would keep. JeffJ
As others have said, that is the more rare box that was for employees only, but there are quite a few out there. I have three that I've purchased. But yes, it does appear that yours is actually signed on the roof with a sharpie, so that would make it worth more. See this thread, I purchased two last month for $24 each shipped, but that was a pretty amazing find at that price. If yours is actually signed, would be worth probably $100+ as of now. Of course if you had the card documenting the signature, would be best. http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=49593

Roush GR40
Thanks for all of the great feedback. When the car was launched a buddy of mine got his signed at SEMA...the photo was of his diecast car. My diecast is unsigned and up in the attic. stngfever
Are you selling it? Have a look at all of his posts here on Team Shelby. You'll find that all he has done on TS, is attempt to get some to drink his Kool Aid with all the "limited edition" stuff he has gotten for little to nothing! Nothing but a Money Grabber! Gotta say somethings not "right". Regarding the Hertz Diescast. First he says it was shipped to Hertz employee's at the cars launch. Then the story changes to they were given to Hertz employees at x-mas. Then the story changes again to he is the ad-man for Hertz and finally another story of the die cast is his friends. Nothing wrong with selling Shelby memorabilia but just be a straight shooter and keep the stories for ebay. Steve

Roush GR40
Somebody must be drinking the Kood-aid...and I don't think it's me. When Shelby launched the car they apparently produced a limited run (special packaging) of this diecast for Hertz. Hertz inventoried these for their execs and other giveaways ... like Christmas. Each of the account team got one...I put mine away...someone else got their's signed by Carroll. Not sure where the confusion is. I was simply trying to get more information on this die-cast. Yes, I do sell some unique Shelby items...don't think there's anything wrong with that. If you are not interested, that's OK...but don't bust my chops for trying to sell some unique memorabilia to support my automotive passion. This site is loaded with e.commerce opportunties...don;t see how that's any different. I do appreciate how the Team Shelby family sticks together and watches out for one another...and apologize if I caused any confusion. I do like the idea of Shelby Kool-aid though...but it would have to be blue. Cudos to Larry T!

shelbymotorsports
Everyone knows its Grabber Blue 03-246 there is absolutely no problem, not one bit selling Shelby memorabilia here on Team Shelby. I haven't seen any indications of any problems other than some of your posts conflict with each other. I'm sure you realize this now and will be more careful. Hmmm...... Shelby Kool-Aid. Quick where's the number to Shelby Licensing. :koolaid: Steve
JeffJ
I had one of mine signed also. This was before I thought that I'd ever be able to own a real one. But this is all I have to prove that it's signed. Should be good enough! This was at the Boulder Shelby Museum Christmas party in 2006. Carroll insisted that he would sign nothing but posters that night as he was not feeling so great, but he did make an exception for my wife! Of course who cares what it's really worth as it will never be sold as long as I'm above the ground!
amyb
THE CAR IS RARE, THE BOX WAS ONLY USED FOR THE HERTZ VISIT THAT WE MADE. Carroll signed hundreds that day, enjoy, not many like that one Amy
