Joe many of the 500 folks have used Sil-Ter-Har ford and others have used other Dealers, good luck with your decision. I would not reccomend Burt Ford I have dealt with them and it has been a nightmare for me on my SGT. I would like to extend an invitation to come and join us at the Shelby Breakfast club here is the link http://www.shelbybreakfastclub.org

Thanks Mick!

Sorry to hear Burt hasn't worked out for you. The Ford GT guys in town seem to like them and I've been happy so far - but they are a looong way from Golden.

Any feedback on Lakewood Fordland? They are walking distance to my office, but if that doesn't work out, I'll call Sil-Ter-Hal.

Also signed up at the Shelby Breakfast Club. Look forward to meeting up with you one of these days.

Regards,

Joe

Joe don't get me wrong the SVT mechanic at the Burt Ford in Parker is a good mech the overall customer service on Shelby's is a mess. My expiernce has been soured because of the 5 different times I have had my car in for the stripe and scoop replacement that they have totaly messed up and have left me holding the bag and I am now considering how I get the car corrected and how to hold Burt accoutable for thier mistakes.

My KR build date is 04 24 08 and I definitely have the older flywheel. Has anyone in Denver had this work done? If so, who did you use and were you happy with their service?

Thank you!

Hi Joe,

Lakewood Fordland has spotty service dept references - I've heard both good and bad. STAY AWAY FROM SIL TERHAR'S SERVICE DEPT - this recommendation comes from personal experience, as I used to live up north.

Since we picked up our lightly used GT500 from Phil Long Ford, we've had their service dept take care of a few warranty issues, and I've been completely pleased with their work. Phil Long is in Littleton, off of Wadsworth - should be within 20 minutes of you.

I was even able to get them to replace a rocker stripe that had been installed at the factory with some stuff underneath, and had been left alone by the previous owner for nearly 3 years. They did the strip replacement just before the 3/36 warranty was up.

I had them do the clutch TSB for me about a month after we picked up the car - they were more than happy to get it taken care of for me, and I've had none of the post-TSB issues that I've heard quite a few GT500 owners here complaining about.

PM me, and I can forward you the service mgr's contact info if you're interested.
