yamahar1
Hey guys, here are my New Year's resolutions. I have the whole year to complete my project, time and money and wife willing of course. Let me know if anyone has these mods, likes them, or has had any bad experiences with anything. That would be what I am really interested in, so I can save my hard earned mulah if there is a bum part that people are building up in their ads. The advertisers make everything sound so good in the ads, I know I will get much more honest opinions here. Thanks for any help. Now, on to my "Michigan Special", sorry this is gonna be a long list, don't bother correcting my spelling, it sucks sometimes, later Power Upgrades: (for starters, hey, I am not rich you know) 1. BBk Complete cold air kit (I like this better than C&L kit now because BBK has a blue filter element, C&L is red, I know I am crazy to choose one for the color of the element, but they seem so similar otherwise and the blue one matches my car) 2. BBK 62mm twin throttle body upgrade. (some claim 14-15hp gain here, 10hp would be a nice surprise there when I blip the throttle) 3. Diablo Predator Flash Tuner These should get me about 35-40hp at the wheels. Even if it is only 30, that will put my car at about 310-315 at the wheels, which is plenty enough for me. Cosmetic upgrages: 1. California dreamin' hood (the one with the two "intakes" slotted near the front of the hood) I think this looks trick, and has a slight power bulge heading up to the windshield. I remember someone with a black one on here, but I cannot find the thread. Trust me, it is trick. My second choice for the hood is the 3d Carbon "Boy Racer" hood. I like this one also, almost like the last gen Cobra hood. Cool. 2. California Special rear bumper. Anyone know where I could find this rear bumper aftermarket, but just like the ford one? I really like it better then some of the aftermarket take-offs look, they have the same idea of the black fins, but I like the one from Ford better. Maybe Ford parts.com, I don't know. 3. Front bumper/chin spoiler??? Undecided for now, might do something though to get the foglights where they belong in the bumper like the GT500. Then I probably would put a grill with the pony in the middle by itself. I like that a little better then the plain grills with nothing in em, no offense Ruff, your grill is nice, just not my style. 4. GT500 style rear spoiler. I like this one, I think I found it at Atlanta Auto.com. It is 3d Carbon I think, and comes already painted. Although, if I get the hood and rear bumper at the same time, I might as well get the spoiler also and have them all painted at the same shop right. To be honest, I even like the spoiler on the '07 V-6 pony package. It is low, right on the trunk, and looks cool to me! 5. 18x10 wheels and tires. Thinking about chrome bullits, or something different like Ruff has, his are cool. 6. Classic Design Concepts sequintial tail light kit. 7. GT500 pedal kit from CDC ( I like this, and I have already installed 10" neon blue lights under both "feet" areas of the floor. The pedals will look trick at night with my light kit. 8. CDC hood prop kit. (this looks trick for $100. I like it better than steeda or others I have seen) Sound Upgrade: Need some advice here. I am leaning to the Basani Axle back Exhaust from the ones that I have heard. I don't think I will go with the Borlas because I have heard they have some drone around 2-3k RPM? I don't like drone or the popcorn sound. I think maybe either the Basani or Flowmaster American Thunder cat backs for now. But I plan on getting high flow cats and X-pipe, possibly long tube headers in the future, but for now, just a sound upgrade so people know I am coming down the road! I am sure I forgot a few things here or there, but this is a big enough list as it is. Man, this could easily top 4 grand for all this stuff when you consider the paint shop time and all for the hood and rear bumper. Man, like I said before, the aftermarket is huge for these cars. I wish I could get into a business venture to start some kind of aftermarket widget company for Mustangs, what a money maker! Thanks for any help or advice in advance. I thought I would try getting everyone's ideas here, because I am mostly set on these things and would want to know if anything is a "bum" part or something. Later, Thong Out. RUFDRAFT
Sounds like you've done your homework! And that's half the fun. :happy feet: My resolutions? I'm in a sort of transition right now - so I'd have to say I'd like to meet a rich hooker who would ask me to accompany her to Can Cun until classes start up again. Nothing major. yamahar1
Sequintial Sequencial ??? :hyper: Sounds like it will be a great looking car, can't wait to see the pics. through the progress. I told you not to check my spelling,,,,,,,,, . Yeah, it is already a great looking car in stock form. I cannot wait to transform it though, into the Michigan Special. Did I make any spelling errors this time, you teachers are funny Sounds like you've done your homework! And that's half the fun. :happy feet: My resolutions? I'm in a sort of transition right now - so I'd have to say I'd like to meet a rich hooker who would ask me to accompany her to Can Cun until classes start up again. Nothing major. The other half of the fun is installing the parts, right! Anyway, that is funny about the hooker. Not too many hookers in your neck of the woods. You could try Fayettville by Fort Bragg. Just make sure the hooker is not packing some sausage. I will never forget the story told to us upon in processing there. They picked up 10 hookers in Fayetville. 4 or 5 of them were dudes and in the military. Nasty.... They might have been just trying to scare us into not doing bad things downtown, who knows with the military, everything is political. Cancoon (sp?) sounds nice though, just watch your back so you don't end up kidnapped like the college students who always make the news. But then again, if someone slips you a roofy, you might enjoy yourself, right???
