2008vistablue
Just wondering if anyone has experienced some clunking when shifting or not from excessive backlash between the pinion and crown gears?? No only a clunk but a whine too. Dealer installed 3.73 with 15 thousands back lash....way out of spec. Then tighted up to 11 thousands......now I'm happy...no clunk or whine!!! Slabo
Real common. It becomes more noticable when you attempt to fix the wheel hop by changing the control arms or suspension.
chuckstang
Ya, Im talking about slop in the drive train, not the clunk from the UCA, I don't have that This is prob due in part to the 2 part DS and sloppy Ford engenieering
2008ShelbyGT500
Just wondering if anyone has experienced some clunking when shifting or not from excessive backlash between the pinion and crown gears?? Yes. The cause in my GT500 was the drive shaft. They replaced it under warranty.
