Fuel Pump

Recommended Posts

While returning from SAI, I had an intermittent fuel smell. No leaks under the hood. Today I pulled the seat and the rubber seal on the fuel pump. It is wet. I assume this may be my smell I am getting. Any suggestions on removing/reseteing the retainer and do I need a new o-ring? This is a GT 500 fuel pump.

Thanks.

Yes you need a new o-ring. Don't drive the car till it's fixed. I installed the GT500 pump myself and it was a miserable task.

One of the 6 or 8 metal tabs that lock your pump into place is probably not seated properly. I highly recommend taking this to your dealer and save yourself the hassle.

Good luck
