svtbird91
Interesting numbers Robert. Looks to me like Ford has a long way to go . Where's the Ford 500 ? Fusion is only #32 on the list. Chevy has [3] in the top ten Ford only has the F150, no cars at all. I guess Ford has yet to build a car that apeals to the buyers out there. Both Toyota and Honda have it figured out and also even chevy, who would have thought ? The new Mustang styling and quality is responsible for its' success no supprise there . Now if Ford would take a closer look at how Toyota does it they might learn something. Don't get me wrong , I really want Ford to be on top but they have to apeal to the younger generation if they want to get there. Example: New Fusion V-6 no manual trans offered , why not ? ford 500 nice car boring looks.
carnut
They are used as rental cars...peice of disposable junk! As are some of those other high numbers say from 3 to
Five Oh B
Worth noting is that Ford has all but abandoned flooding the world with rental cars. Very low profit margin new and then as used cars the resale value is horrible. GM may be selling a ton of Chevy Impala rental cars, but is making very little money, and then a 1 year old Impala is worth half of its original MSRP. Not good if you happen to be a customer who bought an Impala new. Great if you bought one used. Resale values on Ford cars has gone up quite a lot now that they aren't all rental cars. Taurus's used to be half priced as 1 year old cars, but they are starting to bring more. Fusions, Mustangs, 500's, Freestyles, Escapes, etc. are bringing 75-80% of original MSRP as 1 year old used vehicles. This is great for those of us who buy these vehicles brand new, especially those who like to lease (who need high residuals to keep payments lower). The Ford Escape is a great small SUV, I hope it does better in the future. We recently gave our 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee to our daughter and ended up buying an Escape. It is my wifes run about rig and is perfect for going up to the mountins. I just drove it up and over Mt. Hood and then to Mt. Bachlor. I am very impressed with the vehicle. The Ford Explorer used to be our dealership's best selling SUV, but we sell more Escapes now as more and more people experience them.

Brian, I agree. I never even had to put on the chains when I went over the top of Mt. Hood yesterday. The traction on that automatic 4 wheel drive system works great. We got a White one with Silver body molding and bumpers. It is a great looking SUV. Very practicle for the NW weather.
