Inital observations of driving a 500HP Shelby Mustang

You can lay rubber for about as long as you care to

Blower whine grows on you

Hitting 120mph is as easy as changing channels with a remote control

Curvy roads are fun

People look at you as you drive around

130 mph begins to get scary if the road isn't real good

It's very difficult to make your right foot behave

Six gears gears are a good thing to have (you have a lot of options)

You don't need a lot of room to pass a slower car

I agree with all of the above and the hood vibration over 120mph sorta scares me. Makes me think about installing hood pins but I want to keep it close to original.

This will probably be my favorite benefit...although I won't know until I get my car. :banghead: rpretzel, you wanna get together and drink our sorrows away until our cars come? :beerchug:

Dave,

Is your car going to be here next week on the 22nd ?

MAJOR OBSERVATION:

Everyone under the sun wants to race you.

I can't hardly find a race. Except for the dragstrip, the only thing try me was some kind of Infinity. It didn't take him long to find out he picked the wrong fight, but I've yet to have a serious challenge on the street. :banghead:

AGREE!

and, this gets pretty annoying!

I had a suped up dodge neon pull up to me last week. it was all I could do to stop laughing!

I had a porshe 911 vert follow me for 45 minutes trying to get me to engage but I just left the cruise on and waived.

I also had a challenge from a 70 Camaro with a 454 that I turned down.

Just got nothing to prove, with they would all stay awau from my ride. Oh well, it's a price worth paying............

Well my biggest concern is:

Trying to stay out of the power while driving in traffic, it only takes one person changing lanes in front of you

For this reason I will not drive the Shelby to work, maybe on a Friday

Also where can you park safely?

My favorite Places to jump on the gas are: on ramps/ exit ramps/ daytime driving on straight aways/ less traveled streets.

Happy motoring........BRay

I've heard that before. When I checked mine, they didn't appear to be adjustable. Am I missing something? My hood sudders something fierce when I get over 120.

Orf, the rubber hood bumpers twist like a screw and move in and out that way.

Has anyone been given that sort of nice glare by the police officer that just happens to show up in your rear view mirror. It's like he just wants you to go there so he can pull you.

I swear they have bets going as to who pulls the first GT500. Then the highest speed ticketed surely wins the pot. Hubby's sister is a police officer here. I sure hope we run into her soon. I can't wait to hear the stories. Better yet, I need to get the word to her about the car so she can pull hubby (scare the crap out of him) and we can share the winnings.
