Take a look! http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_ne...7_ford_mustangs Part about the problems Dodge and Chevy are having competing with Ford is pretty funny too Yes, I have the "article". We have discussed in other threads (see below). Overall, I think there are a few facts (we know the Bullitt and Boss are coming) tied together with a fair amount of supposition. IMHO, I don't think the Boss will be back in MY 2008 but I could be wrong. The Bullitt seems set for a MY '08 run to replace the current GT/CS package on the Mustang GT. See second thread for more details. http://www.stangsunleashed.com/forums/inde...=465&st=300 http://www.stangsunleashed.com/forums/inde...?showtopic=4652

MustangFanatic
Thanks for the info MF. You are welcome, thanks for posting the link to the website. I'd love to see a Boss in MY '08 but I don't think Ford will have it ready for prime time that quickly. Besides I have a suspicion that Ford plans on "holding" the Boss until '09 to honor the 40 yr anniversary of the original Boss 302 and to counter the competition from cross-town rivals GM and DC. Jesse_Bolt
Only 1000 cars will be built! I guess that counts me out. JB
MDGT
Only 1000 cars will be built! Yeah, I didn't like that piece of info either. I'm hoping that isn't true. MF - I agree, I think they will wait until 2009 for the Boss.
crispy23c
I still have a hard time believing the 1,000 unit call. The only reason Ford would waste the resources on only 1k cars would be for some quick media attention, and I doubt it would pay off. They probably ned to sell 10,000 of these (roughly). And...the '500 getting a re-skin in '08? Sounds interesting. I just don't necessarily believe the source...

Besides, IF Ford were to pursue such a strategy, it would destroy or seriously damage the collectibility factor of the GT500 and I can't see Shelby American sitting by and letting that happen. If Ford truly intends to bring back the Boss that soon, they might have allowed a very low production number to be published to gauge the potential market. Otherwise, I think it is some hack at M/T using rumor and conjecture to sell their rag.

MustangFanatic
i think we will see a mach 1 before we ever see a boss again. Ford will bring back both the Mach I and the Boss - hopefully they are more than just a tape-n-stripe model and a true performance model.

Take a look! http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_ne...7_ford_mustangs Part about the problems Dodge and Chevy are having competing with Ford is pretty funny too Hey There, Great information. Will be interesting to see a Boss Mustang pumping out 425-535 in NA Form. Talk about giving the BowTie and Dodge Boys something to worry about. Personally, I do like the looks of the Challenger. Have seen it at Cars and Coffe in Irvine, CA (a weekly car show kind of thing where roughly 400 cars show up). It was nice for sure. If the production version looks anything like the car they had at the show it will sell well. Not so sure I like the Camaro though. Saw it again at SEMA and just wasnt impressed. Its way to Euro looking for my tastes. I am sure it will be a big seller though if for no other reason than the marketing hype that has been surrounding the car. Will be nice to see some competition on the streets though Not much to pick on these days ya know Page
68fastback
That article has to be very old... too much and bad info. Ford announced the Bullitt two weeks ago and released pics to the press, and Boss isn't happening this year as afar as I know. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong article?
