SmellSoGood
Does anyone know how long a car takes to transport from the Fostoria mixing station (Shelby's, hogs, lumber, steel, and grain) to Newark, NJ distribution center? My logic is that if I drove convoy straight from Flat Rock to Newark it would take 13 hours (guesstimate). How about on rail if that's what Norfolk Southern is doing with my car. Thanks, Tom P.S. - I want to be in my car on Saturday, Sept 5 and not have to wait for the long Labor Day weekend to get in my car the next work week. I'm having strange dreams of Hitler and driving a Shelby through the Black Forest. Don't ask...must be spending too much time on these forums and playing Call of Duty: World at War. billltoole
not sure where that is in Ohio, but I have done Carmel In. to Basking Ridge NJ in 10 hours. I have done Indianapolis to Rochester NY as well. Fun drive, do it!

Why can't they just snooze and put the 1 mile car length train on autopilot? j/k
zeindog
I would say it depends on when they leave the mixing station. Your car will be transfered to a CSX train most likely and follow the same route mine did to get to philadelphia. It may take another week. The train goes through willard, oh then down through the mountains to cumberland, md. From there it goes down to baltimore where it gets stuck for a day or two then on its way up north following interstate 95. This was the worst part of my wait, I got updates every time the vvs updated. The worst part was when it was down in baltimore for a couple days, it was so close I wanted to go down and get it. Xbox 360 is in finished basement, but with an infant, a 3 year old, and a decrepit carpet from kitty vomit and kitty crap (they started doing this when kids came) I can't go down there without a gas mask. I just framed out a door and wall to keep the cats out and will be replacing the carpet in a few weeks, so I'll be back on the heavy duty PC and Xbox 360 soon. My luck, the rail will probably go to Maryland and then down to Georgia, then down to Florida (Panama City), and then up to Newark. I'll be in my car some time in October probably. SSG, My car took only 6 days travel time but sat in Newark for 3 weeks before it delivered to me. I hope that everything goes smoothly, the car is truly amazing and it is worth the wait. My wife's cat did that stuff after our first child was born and we tried everything, eventually just let the cat go outside and come and go as she wanted and it all stopped. Give it a try, if your lucky they won't come back and you can have your house back. Regards, Jim
