clark17357
Were there any Shelby GT's there? Hi Cliff, There were a number of us there. Rick was told that there was no Shelby GT class in the show. I did not hear about that until after the fact. It was a bit strange. Rick and I registered one right after the other and they put him in Class 3 (whatever that was) and me in Class 4 (whatever that was). Jim

Where did this info about a "class 3" and "class 4" ? We had no such classes or classification. Our trophies which I think were unanoucned were the following criteria: Best of: Shelby GT/Hertz Shelby GT500 Shelby GT500 SS Shelby GT500 KR Shelby Special Interest Roush Saleen Mustang GT Furthest Traveled Highest Horsepower All the trophies were chosen by a panel of 3 judges, not anyone from our company. We handed them a registration list and they picked from there. I would like to understand where this confusion came from. Please help.

I would like to understand where this confusion came from. Please help. Rick Yates said he heard from you there was no such class. The class 3 and 4 is what your people at the registration table wrote on Rick's and my sheets before we got them. Those were the sheets we were to put in our window. There was zero information about the car show provided to me either before the event or at the event in terms of what classes there were, what class my car would be put in, who or how many were judging and so forth. I had never entered a car show before and care little about them in the overall scheme (except to admire the time people put into making their cars look sharp) so please understand I am not upset. I have been to plenty of car shows as a spectator and my experience had been that each car was plainly labeled as to what class it was entered in. At your show, I was not even aware when exactly the cars were being judged. Not pinging on you, Jason, as you had plenty of balls in the air getting done all you got done and I had a good time at the event. Did you get the CD of photos I mailed to you? pottydr
I did not hear it from Jason, there were two guys walking around the cars, one of them asked me what kind of car I had, I told them it was a SGT and he said there was no SGT class, He asked me if my car was a hertz and I said no, I told him I was in class three as thats what it says on my show card, I"am not upset either, I just want my items in the auction, soon, as the game tickets are for monday nite

Jim Jim, I dont recall telling Rick that there wasnt a SGT class. I may have missunderstood the question, but I knew there was an SGT class as i designed and ordered the trophies weeks prior. At my shows, we never play up the trophies. In my opinion, I want people to have a good time. If we have a budget for trophies then we get them. To clarify things I now understand what the #3 and #4 are, those are your rally sticker numbers aka your registration number or the order in which we recieved your check in the mail. That determined your rally number. The rally stickers did a variety of things, it let us know WHO was actually a paid participant, who's car was who's, and come judging time we knew who's car was who's. I will tell you most show's dont operate the way we do ours. I usually have a select few judges selected for their automotive knowledge and/or dignatary and I let them select the winners. I personally hate a car show where friends vote for their friends cars instead of the car that actually should win. It's my spin on what I feel is the right way to do it. The criteria given to the judges was simple, what was cleanly build/designed and stood out to them. As you can see the clases were simple for the judges to distinguish. They are car experts and they knew exactly what cars went into each catagory. I know your not upset Jim, but as a first time attendee to my events, i would only guess you might not know how we do things....plainly said we keep them simple and on time...with little MIC time...lol. Its ALL about the cars. I did not hear it from Jason, there were two guys walking around the cars, one of them asked me what kind of car I had, I told them it was a SGT and he said there was no SGT class, He asked me if my car was a hertz and I said no, I told him I was in class three as thats what it says on my show card, I"am not upset either, I just want my items in the auction, soon, as the game tickets are for monday nite Rick, Im not sure who those two gentlemen were. But im glad you have a good time. As far as your auction items go, i think our mail man died. We have had no mail service for two days...god forbid. So I will be going to the Mustang nationals tomorrow up in the valley and will bring your stuff with me, or I will go as far as meeting you in LA on monday or putting your tickets in will call at the stadium. Things have been extremely hectic here since the event and im sorry your tickets slipped throught the cracks. OR, you could come down to my office on monday and i'd love to take you to lunch! How's that for a bargain? im only 30 mins from the stadium. Call my cell and let me know. 714-357-8264. Hopefully this clears up any confusion and if not, please dont hesitate to ask. The worst thing ever is to be unclear about something and dont participate again because of it.
pottydr
How about no, If it takes you two plus weeks to deliver one single envelope you have some serious problems with your mailman, office staff or me, which I really dont care. Lets see how long it takes for the next item to reach my address, I'm sure there will be some sorta mix up with that also. I really dont care that I missed the game, it was for my daughter, she loves baseball.. have a great day

I really dont care that I missed the game, it was for my daughter, she loves baseball.. have a great day Rick, I offered every solution I could think of to get you your tickets. When Enis called me on Wednesday evening, I asked him why you didn’t/couldn’t call me and asked him to tell you to call me. When I didn’t hear from you, I sent you an email, called your cell no one answered, called your company no one answered, left a few voicemails and even frantically called Enis and the Foundation looking for a solution to get a hold of you, with never a response from you. I'm sorry; I dropped the ball on getting you your auction items. However, I did ask everyone to call and confirm arrangements for shipping the items post the event. And so far we only have 2 people that haven’t done so, and we will be calling them this week now that most of the dust has settled. The day after the event we had 3 weeks of catching up for our customers since we shut down. We had to tally up and account for all the registration/auction money, contacting all the people we needed checks from for auction items, organizing all of the 32 auction items (which we had no room to walk), sorting them as people came to pick up their items, putting away all the show supplies while trying to maintain our clients. And half of the items needed to be shipped, so it’s been a task boxing and shipping everyone's stuff. In closing, I/we made a mistake by not jumping on processing your items first since your tickets had a close event date. For that I apologize as it was an honest oversight as I did not remember the date of the tickets. The only thing I can do now to make things right is to personally refund your $50 you paid for the tickets. I will put a check in the mail tomorrow. I would like you to call me/email me an address where you would like your check sent to. As far as your S/C display you bought, I want to have Carroll resign it as the signature was smeared when it got to the event. We noted that on the auction form and will uphold that promise. I will give them your address and ask them to send it to you since again you included your shipping fee’s in your check to them. Your gift basket you asked to have given to Angie at the Foundation was given to her…she loved it! I certainly hope we can somehow make right by this for you and we can shake hands an move forward. Next time your in the LA area, let me know and ill still buy you that lunch. Sincerely, Jason

Shelbyite
My uncle was a mailman for over 32 years in the downtown area of LA. He worked his but off every day delivering mail and packages. To the day he died his biggest beef was when people didnt get some letter picked up or delivred that they blame the postoffice or there hard working mail carrier. I dont think for one minute that the mailmen went awal for several days as other people on his or her rte would be complaining. On Behalf of my uncle gus who served with distinction as a postal carrier, shame on :happy feet: you for even blaming the mailmen.

On Behalf of my uncle gus who served with distinction as a postal carrier, shame on :happy feet: you for even blaming the mailmen. Shelbyite, I can certainly understand your position. I've had the same mail carrier at my house for 27 years. And when he's on vacation, our mail gets messed up....lol. It's certainly a job I wouldn’t/couldn’t do, so I commend anyone that does. In hindsight, I did call my servicing Post Office and spoke to them prior about this circumstance. According to the manager, our business due to it's location (being a blip of Anaheim on the other side of the freeway) is on an "auxiliary" route, what exactly that means I don’t know. What I do know is that our carrier that volunteered to help cover our route is on leave with a leg injury. So I was told that they have had a hard time getting other carriers to help cover this area while she is out, as she will be for some time. This is why we missed a total of 4 days of mail service. In the interim, we have actually been assigned a permanent carrier for our route yesterday until she returns. Others have missed their mail service for a few days as well and DID complain. Seems unbelievable but true. It's not like we are in a rural area, but that's what happened. I explained the nature of what happened with Rick's tickets and she offered to explain it to anyone that wants to call as she felt sympathetic to what happened to us as a result of this. Anaheim Post Office - Loara st. Debbie - Secretary of the Manager 714-520-2621 In closing, I respect your opinion and support for me on other threads but I dont like being called a liar. If it disappeared, let me know and I will send you another one. Jim Yes I did, thank you! I also recieved your MUCH APPRECIATED thank you letter for the event! I've been meaning to get a thank you letter sent back to you, but i've been swamped processing auction items, the newsletter (that hopefully will go out today), the event CD and the hardback bound memory book we'll have available shortly. So we've been still chugging along. Im sure many of your photo's will be in the memory book. I bought a full spline of CD's only to find out that the pictures to go on them is nearly 3 gigs and thats not including Robert Landry's photo's. ****Does anyone know of anyone that can mass produce DVD's cheap?****
