thewheelman
Check this out! MT has very good things to say about the GT 500 and puts it above the Vette, Camaro, and the BMW! Beaten, however, by a Caddy! I don't really see many of the typical Caddy buyers being all that performance-minded. Granted, we'll run into one of them every now and then, but I think most are like most BMW drivers, they bought it for the badge and status, not to drive to it's potential..... Here's the link! http://www.motortrend.com/features/perform..._car/index.html Enjoy!

SicShelby
It does seem like the 2010 GT500 is getting good press. I can't remember, but I think it was Car and Driver that did a bad article or two... Here is another "win" for the GT 500, versus Hennesey Camaro: And I remember seeing that! I think that they put the GT500 vs. Hennesey Camaro (and the stock SS), shortly after Ford had something to say for putting the SS against a stock Mustang GT. If they want competition... they'll find it in the 500, that's for sure!
MustangSal500
Thats a cool article, but tell me how did the miata end up with all those supercars? I would've preferred to see the challenger, m3, or nissan gtr in there in its place. I mean, they put that R8 in there. So its not like it was a test of cheaper cars. SVT Tech
New Camaro gets last place, that's just plain sad. GM has had so much time to design and build this car and they end up last?? You would think they would have done it right with all that R&D time, but hey it's GM were talking about here. Just Another Chevy Junk I Guess It's to bad Ford doesn't put a better tire on the GT500. It would make a big difference.

supersnake94
I got that magazine today. I think it is totally awesome for that to happen. GO 2010 Shelby! But they had an article online about them talking about the 2010 Snake and it's not in the magazine. I guess it was only meant for the site. Here's the link! http://www.motortrend.com/features/perform..._car/index.html Enjoy! I'm glad you said "most BMW drivers". Straight line, I'm pretty sure my GT500 will take my 335i. On a road course, there is no way that it would keep up with my BMW. Both cars are a lot of fun to drive. Have to agree with you about Caddy drivers but I remember my dad's 1969 Cadillac Sedan Deville and surprising a lot of my friends. It was a tank but could outrun a lot of my friend's cars. It could also lay rubber for a long, long, way. Jim

The stock GT500 is a woeful beast around a road course. I'm absolutely certain that my GT500 would annihilate your little 335 :-)
thewheelman
The Miata is the modern re-incarnation of the MGB.....that runs....all the time! What the MGB should have evolved into, had not British Leyland laid down on us.....oh well, another story, another time...... Yeah, no doubt the BMW has superior handling, but most BMW drivers aren't willing to take you up on a stop-light Grand Prix!

I'm absolutely certain that my GT500 would annihilate your little 335 :-) I was talking about my stock GT500. I might be willing to take you up on your offer if I invested the same amount of money into my 335i as you have in your GT500. Unfortunately, as much as I would like modify both of my vehicles, I don't have the cash to do it while keeping my wife happy at the same time. Nonetheless, it's still fun to think about. Variety is the spice of life...pointless blings and all. Better watch out for my motorhome on that road course. :beerchug:

Unless its a really slow, twisty road course. Maybe you should sell the 335 and put the money into the GT500 :-) Its a hell of a waste of a good engine/tranny to be stuck on top of that awful suspension. Ok, somebody help me out here, where's the article in which they compared a Ferrari, GT 500, Lotus and Dodge something SRT? The GT 500 actually beat the Lotus around the road course! Kind of like the 427 Cobras, just muscle it through the corner as best you can, then stand on it and everything else fades in the rear view! Where's that comparison?????? I thought I had it bookmarked!

On the other hand, my BMW is fun to drive in a different way than my GT500. Also, I can drive it in the Iowa winters. The GT500 will be in the garage from October/November until March/April. I made the mistake of taking it out on a nice sunny day when the temperature was 5 degrees. Those tires get real hard and don't have any traction at that temperature which is why the owner's manual says don't drive when it is under 40.
