Whipple 550 on my SGT-C

Recommended Posts

Well, Betsy is at SAI as of yesterday. :)

I met Doug, Roger and Bud. Total motor-heads! (especially Roger)

There was some awesome machines there! I did take a few pictures including...

10SS0001C - Totally sick! 750HP!

A couple sweet Terlingua's and...

I will post a few after work tonight.

I have some good blackmail pics of Roger's beautiful ride. (Kinda dirty...OK, filthy!) :hysterical: Probably save those :spiteful:

Can't wait! :waiting:

Likewise, Roger. It is very exciting! Great group of people at SAI.

It needed it! :hysterical: Your car is a real beauty. That is the 1st GT-H hood I've seen in person. It looks great on the SGT! Hmmmm, I wonder..... :headscratch: Naw

Thats great. Keeping it simple with the add on's too.

Yes...

We definitely have the best looking ponys!

I've already booked my flight and hotel room for tomorrow morning. My dad will pick me up at the airport and I'll be at Shelby by around 1PM. Very excited.

The drive home Saturday should be a blast!

You guys are the best. I will take a bunch of pictures tomorrow and post them up when I get home this weekend.

Back home.

A great experience! So, after the 600 mile drive, I guess it's all broken in. :hysterical:

The performance is more than I expected. Kinda reminds me of Chip Beck when he said, "2 or 3 seconds on the throttle is all you need to dispose of almost anything." (I paraphrase)

While the guys were digging up my take-off parts, Roger told me to take it around Speedway Blvd to get the feel...

There are some gently sloping speed-bumbs that come up in a hurry, so I jumped back on the surface street and circled around to Hollywood St., grabbed a gear (with TC off) and OMG!!!

When I pulled back in at SAI, all I could say is, "Holy S@#T!!!! Night and day.

Roger; you, Doug and Bud really answered the call on this one. I dropped it off on Monday morning and I got the call to pick it up on Thursday early-afternoon! I call that above and beyond the call of duty.

Thank you very much!

SAI also replaced/repaired my gauge housing. I had gotten a replacement back in January of 08 from John W. I had the Ford dealer swap it out, but it still wasn't perfect. It's a LOT better now. Thanks guys! :happy feet:

I Chip BecK that correct...I mean does the GT/SC crush everything? Is it really that fast?

I don't think it would "crush everything".

I know it will crush my friends' modded 06 Vette. (430 RWHP @420 RWTQ)

edit***

I "crushed" a nice Dodge SRT10 pickup on the way home today...no contest! :happy feet:

EDITED:

The Whipple HO kit makes 500 rwhp, Mustang GTs weigh 3450 to 3500 lbs.

With 3.73 gears and a rolling start, GTSCs will give just about anything a run for their money up to about 120-130MPH.

Better power to weight than most GT500s.

You will lose to a KR at 90mph punch, no substitute for cubic inches.

EDITED:

I had a friend who has had more cars new since the 60's all the way until now brand new tell me that hands down that was the fastest car he had been in....

He also had a collection of vettes that was 1st class...

I have driven faster cars but they were race cars, not street legal. I am sure there are faster cars out there driving around but I have not come across any...

The SC'd car is a true joy. Makes 911's go byebye.
