Erich It sure would be nice to take that car for a spin. My favorite Ford engine has always been the 351C and makes you wonder if the prototype fuel injection was more for the upcoming Pantera. In 1969 Ford had just bought into the DeTomaso company. Shelby's had already become too expensive compared to the competition and the writing was on the wall that the end was near so I can't imagine Ford wanting too add such an expensive piece of hardware onto the Shelby. Even if it was for the Pantera its probably best that it wasn't used. Can you imagine adding fuel injection problems to the Pantera's list of first year warranty items?
