Whew, it was a long read but a good one. :lurk: Made me feel good about the Shelby. :happy feet: Tires and brakes can easily be changed. I have to say it was an interesting hodge podge of cars to campare. Lets see, we have an apple, orange, grape, plum.... you get the picture. :headscratch: I'd say we have a winner in our garages, sure don't plan on buying the Miata any time soon.

Would like to seem them reevaluate the GT500 with upgraded brakes, tires and rear end. However it is interesting that the Shelby rates higher than the ZR1... :headscratch:

After carefully reviewing a friends new SS Camaro, it has a nice instrument cluster, but the interior and some of the controls are a ergonomic nightmare, the trunk is a sick joke, and the exterior is far less than what it could have been (GM should have taken the 1969 RS/SS and modernized it + built a convertible).

By far the 2010 GT500 has a better engineering foundation.

Guess the writers at M/T came around huh? :banvictory::banvictory:

+1.

You know what I would really like to see?

A GT500 SS vs. a Corvette ZR1! :spiteful:

The ZR1 is GM's flagship car how could the Cadillac score a 4th place . As you can tell i HATE Caddy's ( 4227 lb brown terd ) they are so un-Shelby like. This was a great read and enjoyed it very much.

The article was about "Drivers" cars. The ZR1 sucks when it comes to driving every day. If you get the chance to drive one, you'll know what I'm alking about. The Caddy, slap my mouth for saying it, is a superb "Luxury" car that was engineered to perform.

The hightlight however, is the GT500 beat the ZR1. The ZR1 can definately perform but is nowhere as great a daily driver car as the GT500 (or Caddy). The ZR1, IMO, is not a well rounded car.

I notice a trend of everyone dissing the tires. What is a good replacement set for all purpose use? (other then snow)

I agree, the tires suck. There are warnings on the door post and in the manual about driving the tires in temps below 40 degrees. I say it is a contract issue with Goodyear otherwise, we would have the same tires as the standard GT, just bigger.

I owned a 02 Z06 and it was a drivers car compared to any other car @ that time. So your saying GM over engineered the ZR1 and made it a super car.
