It's finally here

Recommended Posts

Thanks Guys. The feeling is surreal. After all that waiting, it's finally in my garage. I drove it 64 miles home and this thing feels great. My dad has an 08 GT500 and I think that the ride quality is noticeably better in the 2010.

Coming into work today was tough. I really want to detail the car.

When I picked up mine earlier this month it had two chips out of the front right rim. Also a chunk out of the tire. Still waiting for the replacement from the dealer. Hopefully the wait will not be long for either of us. I believe it was a transprotation issue.

Congratulations Grabber 2010 :happy feet: looks the biznesssssss. Whenever I look at Grabber blue 2010s I wish I'd had the courage to go for it! Alas,.. safe old Kona & Silver for me :boring:

The front wheels appear to be very vulnerable. I am not really sure how long it will be until I've marked mine in one way or another. The tyre built in rim protector is almost non-existent on the front - in contrast the rears seem much better protected. At the Woodward cruise this weekend, almost all the 2010's I saw had some sort of light scratch/chip on the front passenger (kerb) side rim.

You could always have it repaired. I had a G35 that had bad curb rash, good custom wheel guy fixed it right on the car. Looked like a new wheel and lasted until I sold the car 2 yrs later.

Also how many miles were on the clock when you picked it up? How many miles did the dealer put on the car?

I took it right from the truck. When the dealer did their PDI, I rode shotgun. There was 8 miles at TOD. I have about 125 on it today. I haven't drove stick in a while and getting used to it.

Been getting a lot of thumbs up. The color is striking. Much brighter than I thought it would be, but that's OK.

Today I washed and waxed it. There was a lot of tiny "dots" in the paint like tree sap or road tar. I think that the factory could have better protected it for transport. I got most of them out, but plan to detail it again before the end of season.

After reading your post I went and check my rims out. One little rough spot with tiny chip on one of my front rims. As I plan to drive this car I am glad that was the only problem, especially after I found out that these cars are sent on regular transport trucks. I am sure my dealer will at very least sell me a replacement for cost if I pushed the issue but I am not going to bitch too them because they are going to sell me another one next year and I really want that allocation! Plus I did not catch it upon delivery but it is soooo minor that after the trip from Flat Rock to South Texas by rail thru Canada? , and the fact that they gave me $1,000 off sticker I feel very lucky! Best of luck on fixing your very fine car! denohew P.S. I do not know why the rail went thru Canada but that is what the dealer said.
