how do i find my build date?

Recommended Posts

You have two options. Either post your VIN number and someone on the forum can track down the date for you ( GRABBER? ) or call Ford SVT at 1-800-367-3788 and pay 45 dollars and get the Oasis report on your vehicle.

Here is another suggestion. Follow this link.

Grabber takes you through step by step with pictures on how to identify and check your vehicle for the old and new type flywheel. I still haven't contacted Ford yet about my report but I intend to do so this week. I do have the new flywheel and mine was built in the middle of August last year so I was lucky and right on the bubble in regards to when the new ones started going in. Good luck.

Almost forgot. Check the sticker on the driver's side door and it should tell you the month and year the car was produced. Going by all the intel on Grabbers topic; if your build date on the door says 09/08 or later you should have all the new parts and shouldn't have any issues.

:yup:

what a pain. here's the problem -- i have zero symptoms, but i just got the car. i bought it with all of 2500mi on the clock from a friend who didn't dd it. it's my only car, so i WILL be driving it in traffic and such.

so, most dealers will drive it, say nothing is wrong, and send me on my merry way

It is on the upper left corner. The code that starts with a 1...."1200080102". Remove the 1 and then it is YYYYMMDD.

^^^This... less one zero... :)

Carl,

Here's your window sticker, but the usual date coding is missing: http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin=1ZVHT88S475252567

Interesting...wonder why the date coding is missing....The original purchaser only put 2600 miles on this car in 6 years...Dealer said he didn't want to get rid of it, but believed there must have been some underlying reasons for letting it go...It only has a couple of small blemishes...looks like he curbed the left front wheel just a tad...not too awful noticeable though, and a couple of little paint abnormalities on the front bumper...but nothing major...everything else is wonderful...No owner's manual though...Dealer said he would get me a new one...
