CANADA GUY
JUST WONDERING IF ANY OF YOU WHO TOOK DELIVERY OF YOUR CAR HAD THIS SMALL PARTICLE - LIKE STUFF ON YOUR PAINT.It really shows up in the light on dark color cars specifically. I talked with MM HER ON THE FORUM AND HE SAYS HE SEES IT SOMETIMES.He was quite helpful and says a claybar wash while wet and wax will fix it . Right now I am waiting for a detailing shop ( at FORD'S EXPENSE) TO FIX IT.The local Ford rep was also advised. I wonder if the boys at Flatrock are aware of this issue .I am just a little concerned as I want it perfect

I know you might want it "perfect" but I'm not sure it should be on Ford's dime.
Burning Blue Star IV
Personally, I would just claybar it myself for rail dust or overspray. Unless, it's some type of major paint defect - in which I would want the dealer to fix it. And I would not feel great about turning my brand new car over to a detail shop unless I completely trusted them.

CANADA GUY
Sounds like it's dirty to me.Grab a bucket of soap and water. Problem solved. A wash does not fix it. IT WAS THE DEALER WHO FOUND THIS WHEN HE WASHED IT FOR DELIVERY. This Ming detail shop has paint sealed 3 vehicles of mine previously and I KNOW THE OWNER.He is very particular and will supervise the whole job. I do appreciate your comments though. Thanks for all the info.

aobrien
I have to agree with an earlier post. I would claybar it first and then apply the wax system of your choice. Many like Ice, I use Zaino. Oh and congrats on the new car, pictures. Al
sharabi
I would like you to take a look at those pics in that thread which refers to possible contamination during the painting in the factory, if it is similar then i will wait before any major detailing since the outcome could be worse than the original problem, if it is a different issue ( like if you run your hand on the paint you find it rough) then a light clay bar will take care of it. http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php...hl=bumper+paint
Torched10
Did you have to wax it after using the number 7?? No--waxing itself wont get blemishes out---id do the clay bar after you try the Maguiars.Im not a wax guy, unless you drive in the elements alot, and you need to protect the finish.Wax tends to oxidize over time, and reduces the deepness of the color.Theres differnt opinions on useing a cleaner/wax, but i think the paint needs to age a few months before you start taking clear off with a cleaner/wax,like Magiars No 6.I could feel the particles on the clear, and was hoping the glaze would take it off, which it did.Dont rub reall hardand use a clean applicator, maybe more than one--it easy to do--the hwol car will take less than 2 hours, but do one section and see if it works, maybe the trunk area first. greggara
Claybar will take care of most carbon and rail deposits. I like to clay at least once a year, especially the rear bumper where there is the most carbon buildup. I dont think a cleaner wax removes clearcote if I am not mistaken. Martin---the cleaner/wax doesnt actually remove the clear, but it does polish it with tiny bits of abrasives to get it to shine better, and cleans the imperfections. So in essence it does take off a tiny bit of clear to do its job, otherwise it wouldnt work or clean the finish. Its not a compound, but it does clean. No big deal--
