Ken Smith
Hi Guys This will be my first time on the drag strip. I have a 2008 GT500 that is totally stock from the factory. I currently get a lot of rear axle tramp when I take off quite quickly out on the street. Would installing a set of Steeda Billett Lower Control Arms fix this? What advise can anyone give me to enable successful launches with out to much wheel spin. Should I have the traction control on or off? I would appreciate any other advise. Many thanks. Since you do it stock, best advice is to get it easy out of the hole for second then go hard on the gas, otherwise it will hop like a bunny, the time you will lose in wheel hopping if you rev high and drop the clutch is more than the slightly rolling time before pushing the pedal to the metal. the best alternative is to get the LCA which will significantly diminish the wheel hop. if you want to do it right then include the UCA. Try it with the traction control on first then go without it as you get the feel of it. I also just replaced the upper control arm bushings only, and have no wheel hop with 550hp/tq at the wheels. rsfdiver
First time at the track ever, I spin out in first, grabbed second, hooked up and thought Lets Go, hit the power band and headed for the wall. Thank goodness for good brakes and the fact I was in the left lane aiming for the right wall. I did the upper control arm bushings and have good results with 550rwhp & tq with stock tires and MT 305/35/18's. the car is not lowered for I like the stock height. About my yard in the picture my wife informed me that my new huskervarna lawn tractor was just put out by the local fire department...
