Grabber Posted June 28, 2009 Report Share Posted June 28, 2009 Today I entered my car in a show in Wilsonville, Oregon. Pretty big show. I went with another local member Spring Lil Cobra (Richard). Had a blast hanging out with him all day. I dressed for the event and wore 3 new mods. My signed Engine builder T-Shirt, new GT500 cap and new tennis shoes with Grabber Orange Nike Swoops. Here's my buddy Richard. Richard's (Spring Lil Cobra) GT500 is my 2nd favorite color. This car show had a team of judges that went around to all the cars and graded them. This was not one of those shows where everyone’s buddies votes for each others cars. There were a lot of cars and I did not expect to win anything. I have been to many shows before and I have never won an award. Today I won big and it really made me happy and proud to own a 2007 Shelby GT500. My Shelby won: 1st place - BEST MODERN MUSCLE CAR :happy feet: 3rd place BEST MODERN FORD :happy feet: I’m a very proud owner. I’m still smiling from today’s show. Spring Lil Cobra Posted June 28, 2009 Report Share Posted June 28, 2009 Guys: A couple of things need to be said about this show 1) the cars were not voted on by the public-it was not a viewers choice award 2) the guys judging the show (a big shout out to SIKKREATIONS car club) were experts! their cars are top notch!!! 3) the quality of cars was at a high level (several new Roush's, a Ford GT, a couple of very well preserved GT's, and even my GT 500) The guys at SIKKREATIONS have a keen eye for detail...it is no surprise to me that Rob's car won the awards it did. If you know Rob like I do, you know how particular he is. Those details are what seperates the rest of us from the best of us. You all should have seen the glow on Rob's face when his name was called (two times) during the trophy presentation...it was priceless! I look forward to seeing Rob's shop with his new 'hardware'. Way to go Rob, glad I was there to share in your glory!!!! SLC One other thing... the sponsor of the show was KINGPIN audio...they are a very high end audio group...best in the Northwest! The money went to the Kevin Duckworth foundation. He's the Portland Trailblazer that died suddenly last year. I highlighted in RED the 2 awards my car won below. The "Best of Class" award - 1st place for best modern muscle car is huge for us Ford guys. Our GT500 beat out all the other makes.
