Many interesting words to live by, past, present and future.

like they say - if i only knew then what i know now!

Very true indeed.

....and the last words on the video "Trust me on the........." have a special meaning to me that I do agree with him on.

Man! Rob what happened?

Stage II Melanoma Cancer.

That pic is after they stretched the skin over the hole that they had to dig in my face to get the cancer out.

Skin cancer will kill you if it's not caught in time. Once you have stage 3...you have a 50/50 chance to fight it with Chemo.

When the doc's removed my cancer I had this hole in my face for a week While they tested it.

Then they called me to tell me that the cancer was still present around the perimeter of the removal area. They dug more out and it took a week to test it.

Then they called me to tell me that they got it all...and they stretched the side of my face over the open hole.

Now you know why I suggest you wear sunscreen.

Good job, Rob. Hope your recovery is going well. Too many people don't heed the sunscreen warnings until it is too late. I personally use Neutragena SPF 100. Being of Scandanavian decent, I have been doing to the dermatologist thing for years to have the keratosis burned (frozen) off of my face before it goes too far.

People tend to overlook reflected sun from lakes and streams, snow, sand and car show parking lots. Also , you can get UV damage on cloudy days as well. Plus the altitude makes a difference as to how long is too long for exposure. Here at 5,000 ft, my doc say 20 minutes is the same as 2.5 hrs back in Jersey.

ejrail,

Yup, time to call for a dermatology appointment! Thanks for getting this bumped (and to Rob for the thread) as we enter the Summer season...

PS: Make sure your sunscreen blocks both UV A and B.

+1. A&B must be blocked. I use sun block EVERY day since I work at 7,500 ft at a ski resort.
