Numbers are in!! "Stimulus" Bill Officially A Failure...

Recommended Posts

Nice, each side points to the other. I didnt do it he did it, no I didnt, he did it.

I guess the public is to blame, we elected all of these idiots, present company included

It has been said that every people have the government they deserve. I now know it is true. When we fail to properly study the candidates, their records, their agendas, etc then it is our fault. And only about 50% of the country even votes.

The stimulus package and all the other projects the Federal goverment just passed (I've lost track of how many trillion) might not have done much to help reduce unemployment or improve the ecomomy, but it's going to do wonders helping to induce hyperinflation. The government can't produce wealth. All it can do is print money and we are doing that like crazy.

The main cause of hyperinflation is a massive and rapid increase in the amount of money, which is not supported by growth in the output of goods and services. This results in an imbalance between the supply and demand for the money (including currency and bank deposits), accompanied by a complete loss of confidence in the money, similar to a bank run.

But hey! If you are loaded down in debt, this is good news. In real terms your debt will be worth less in a hyperinflationary environment. So go ahead and run up those credit cards :D

Ok, I've got it now. Billy Boy was scared of what Gingrich said? That's why he missed Bin Laden. If he would have left Monica and his other bimbos alone, Newt wouldn't have had any opportunity. Were all supposed to be working together now? But the radical left spent the last eight years bashing the president and not working together. Now they expect cooperation because Obama's in the White House?

I didn't know "Billy Boy" was personally aiming the cruise missiles...other than his own :hysterical:

I don't think its anyone's business who the president is having sex with, certainly not a hypocrite like Gingrich. Clinton's big mistake was lying about it. He should have said its NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS people.

I guess my point is Republicans were trying to stop him from killing Bin Laden, claiming that it was a "wag the dog stunt". They probably should have left him alone to do his job.

Obama so far is doing OK. Economically he is doing the right things. The stimulous was done because historically this has worked to get the country out of a bad recessionary cycle. Reagan did the exact same thing. Whether it will work this time is really an unknown, only time will tell. The stock market is up and the unemployment numbers are down..thats a good sign.

The people that want him to fail dont care about this country, only who controls it. They would like to prolong this agony as much as possible so they will fight anything that helps.

One thing is certain is that Obama is not responsible for what has happened to the economy. The people that ARE responsible are trying desperately to blame anyone but themselves.

Reagan stimulated the economy by cutting taxes.

Unemployment is NOT down. Rather it hit 9.4% for the month of May, 2009 and will exceed 10% soon.

Where is it that the unemployment numbers are down? No place that I am aware of for sure. 9.4% - and thats of those that CAN still collect unemployment. I have friends that have used up theirs so are no longer on unemployment - or working. I was recently unemployed - and not able to collect either (starting a new job tomorrow).

While the reported unemployment number is 9.4%, I would bet dollars to doughnuts that the REAL number is much higher than that.

FOX NEWS

WASHINGTON -- The number of people on the unemployment insurance rolls fell slightly last week for the first time in 20 weeks, while the tally of new jobless claims also dipped, the government said Thursday.

The report provides a glimmer of good news for job seekers, though both drops were small and the figures remain significantly above the levels associated with a healthy economy.

The Labor Department said the tally of first-time claims for jobless benefits declined to a seasonally adjusted 621,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 625,000, nearly matching analysts' expectations.

The total jobless benefit rolls fell by 15,000 to 6.7 million, the first drop since early January. Continuing claims had set record highs every week since the week ending Jan. 24. The continuing claims data lag initial claims by one week.

Still, the number of initial claims remains stubbornly high, above the 605,000 level reached five weeks ago. That was the lowest level in 14 weeks.

The four-week average of claims, which smooths out fluctuations, rose by 4,000 to 631,250.

The report comes a day before the department is scheduled to release its unemployment report for May. Economists expect that report will show employers cut a net total of 520,000 jobs last month.

That's on top of 5.7 million jobs that have been lost since the recession began in December 2007.

The unemployment rate, meanwhile, will rise to 9.2 percent from 8.9 percent in April, analysts forecast.

Troubles in the automotive sector could cause unexpected fluctuations in the claims data. General Motors Corp. filed for bankruptcy protection Monday, joining Chrysler LLC, which filed April 30.

GM said earlier this week it will close nine factories and idle three others indefinitely as part of its restructuring. The closings, which will take place through the end of 2010, will cost 18,000 to 20,000 workers their jobs.

The company already planned to temporarily close 13 plants on a rolling basis this summer. Workers affected by the temporary shutdowns are eligible for unemployment benefits.

Chrysler, meanwhile, has temporarily idled all its U.S. factories after filing for bankruptcy protection, resulting in 27,000 layoffs. That decision caused claims to jump in the first week of May.

The shutdowns also could affect auto suppliers, which employ 3 million workers.

They have only deployed 44 billion of 787 billion though so I think its too early to call.

I just wonder what the GOP would do, give billionaires another tax cut and keep spending money untill the debit ceiling was 20 trillion? You hear a lot of complaining from the GOP but where are their ideas?

Dear Mr Blackhawkpilot,

Do you realize how much this picture looks like New Orleans after Katrina. It wasn't the storm that was so frightening, but what the people did after it.

John

It's crazy to think that Americans did what they did in New Orleans, isn't it? We had a helicopter come back with three bullet holes in it after rescuing people from rooftops. Apparently some gang bangers thought it was a police aircraft. Then again, these were the same turds that were looting and then crying out "where's my government aid????" Oxygen thieves.

Obama w/in the last 2 days said he was going to find ways to create more jobs. Isn't that what he said that the so-called "stimulus" package would do? He's too busy courting Muslim leaders and partying in New York and Paris to really get the job done.

By the way - Where's Hillary???

Where's hillary? First who cares. Second- she is wherever she can be so as to be the next president either in 2012 or 2016. She is somewhere plotting and lurking. If obama died today there would be front page photos of her throwing her self on the coffin with huge crocodile tears streaming forth as she pledge to carry on his dreams. The performance would be worthy of an academy award!

According to Popular Mechanics, "As for sniper fire: No bullet holes were found in the fuselage of any rescue helicopter."

That's from this article:

Did PM get it wrong?
