uno
so i call SAI to ask if our air filter is cleanable, they told me i just need to buy the Air Filter Recharge Kit, which apparently doesn't even exist. The guy at SVT told me to just take my filter and use a toothbrush and some diluted "Fantastic" cleaning product. 1 ) what in gods name is an air filer recharge kit? 2 ) our filters dont need oiling do they? 2007_Shelby_GT
I used a recharge kit from S & B. Comes with red or blue aerosol oil: http://www.sbfilters.com/products/filter_maintenance.php Don't use to much oil or you will ruin your MAF sensor! jwhite1967
I just cleaned mine yesterday. I just use a spray cleaner like 409, let set a while and rinse well. Let dry and install. I have never used a filter oil on it.
James Hill
I bought a K&N filter cleaning kit. It came with a cleaner and the oil. Don't use a bunch of oil. It will turn your filter red.

Sam AKA: I bought this kit from from Steeda along with a new filter. I put the new filter on and then cleaned and slightly oiled the old one so that it has a light tint of blue and let it sit in a box ready to install when the new one is dirty. If the filter is engineered to work with oil, then it needs a little oil to work properly, BUT don't over oil it.
