Coerced out of your car?

Recommended Posts

What ever happened to "... and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth ... " Lately I think "we the people" are sitting in the backseat of a car with two steering wheels speeding down down the road to hell.

It is also referred to as social engineering. It will effect housing, transportation, education, the economy, firearms. healthcare. Everything you buy and do. It will include more apartments than houses and walking to the neighborhood grocery store rather than driving. Yet another chapter in the book of socialism to come.

Isn't it ironic how the party of "pro-choice" does not actually want us to have any choices? :headscratch:

And how is this person going to try to coerce us out of our cars? :headscratch: Lame article.

Lets see, we could have a performance tax, Charge you an extra 1200 a year just to own one. Make no mistake about it, these people are arrogant and anything they dont agree with will be under attach

OK, I will admit that. But maybe we need a poll here. Which ideology is closer to communism; conservatives or liberals? Simple question with one word response.

I will start the poll and say that I feel liberals agenda/ideology is closer to communism than conservative agenda/ideology.

To you, this Great Country of ours has been Communist with every Democratic President

in our Lifetime???????????????? :baby:

You have to define lifetime. JFK was not a communist. I did not agree with all of his policies, at the time, but he was not a communist. LBJ was not a communist. He was an idiot and misguided but not a communist. Jimmy Carter......let the record speak for its self. He has gone around the world hugging castro, chavez, etc and trashing the United States. Klinton, a step towards socialism but not an outright communist. Obama, in my opinion, a socialist.

When you say lifetime we run the gamut of ages from teenagers to seniors on this site. For some the past was a study of history. For others it was current events. And those that fail to learn the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat.

Okay then we also need to explore which "ideology/ agenda" is closer to "fascism".........

Lets see, I will start it off with "conservative"..........

Either way its a rediculous poll but "tit for tat"..............

I was taught that the farther right you go and the farther left you go the similarites are remarkable like a circle. Poly Sci State University circa 1988 or so...who knows what they teach now as everything changes but the far anything still makes me cringe...why can't everyone just be cool. Everyone is a extremist freak anymore. So divided we will fall.

True. The pendulum usually swings one way and then moderates. Unfortunataely this time it may swing too far and be irreversible. If 15 million illegal immigrants are given the right to vote you will never return to a true two party system. Obama has increased the national debt more than any other president in history, and that was just in the first 100 days. The auto industry and the banking industry has basically been nationalized. And the health care industry is next. And you have a racist socialist nominated for the Supreme Court and when approved she will be there for 25+ years. If he wins again in 2012 there are only two options.l

Well when bush came in there was no debt? Explain this for me I am really being genuine I do not understand. If an illegal could vote then there is something real wrong. The right was all behind the nationalization of both industries as well...and just what are the options?

Its all the same...in the end we work they get paid and they do what they want.

Au contraire my aging Budha Buddy. There was a national debt. The national debt was not elminated and Bush did not start off with a zero balance. However, Bush did cut taxes and brought MORE money into the federal tax system.

The illegal will be able to vote. After obama grants amnesty and citizenship. Then they will be allowed to vote, collect welfare, social security (even if they don't work) and health care benefits. Obama constantly tells us there are 50 million people in this country without health care benefits. What he does not address is taht 15 million are illegal immigrants and he does propose to give benefits to the illegals. Of course they will not be illegal after amnesty.

And the 15 million will represent 75 million new democrat votes. Because ACORN will register each one at least 5 times if not 60-70 times. Josef Stalin said it matters not who votes. It matters only who counts the votes. Is ACORN active in Seattle? Are they under investigation in Seattle?

Very good post!

I feel there are always more similarities than differences between people... Groups, now that's another story.

PS- Budha Buddy, Bush inherited a national debt of over 5 trillion dollars in 2000.

Bush grew that national debt to 11 trillion or so. He built a house of cards and now its fallen. I'm not sure what the budget deficit is right now but I think its in the trillions. Bush spent WAY more than he took in. He cut taxes while he spent huge amounts of money in Iraq and the drug benefit or as I call it, welfare for the pharma boys/destroying medicare.

There is a difference between national debt and budget deficit. National debt is how much money we "borrow" from the federal reserve so they can print more currency basically. Budget deficit is whether they are taking in more or less tax money than they are spending. Bush had a budget surplus of 400+ billion and a national debt of 5 trillion when he took office. The national debit is now 11 trillion and the budget deficit is HUGE.

When they raise the national debt ceiliing and print more money it devalues the currency. Thats usually not a good thing, leads to hyper inflation ie a wheelbarrow of money to buy a loaf of bread. It does make our products more competitive in the world market, but we arent producing much anymore.

When gas was 4+ dollars a gallon, it depletes the amount of cash we have to work with. That money goes over to the middle east and it doesn't come back. Same with all these Chinese imports, Japanese etc. We are a consumer nation that is producing manufacturing less than we consume. Big problem. Pretty soon there is no money to borrow to people building businesses and such, the banks are required to keep cash on hand so eventually there is no money left to loan out. And here we are. Everything starts to fall apart.

This is my laymans understanding of economics, I'm sure many of you know more. It all just paper and promises anyhow. :hysterical:

Incidentally, I'm not a big fan of Obamas SC pick. Frankly, he coulda done better. I'm starting to think Obama is a stealth Republican... :headscratch:

He was talking about Sotamayer saving baseball...who cares. Thats not much of a legal acomplishment. AND she was appointed to the federal bench by GWB's daddy..WTF Barrak?

Mccoy:+1.

I didn't even bother reading the topic links...yeah, I shake my fist at it all...everyone happy? :hysterical:

Devil, you are factually correct on many of your points. When bush left office the debt was 9+ trillion, it is now almost 12 trillion.

We disagree on whom built the house of cards. The dems controlled congress the last two years and allowed, even encouraged, the reckless lending of fannie and freddie.

HYper inflation- would doom this country. I remember home interest rates of 15% and more. Banks stopped lending because they could not borrow the money at competitive rates.

And yes we did lose discretional spending with 4.00+ gasoline. How did we have gas so expensive last year. Was that a coincidence? It certainly was not truly supply and demand.

We are heavily owned by the Chineese. To the point where they can influence our economy and even our policies.[

While we agree in basics on many points Sonia is a closet socialist, not conservative.
