I like the KB blowers with ONE exception...It looks to me to be a PITA to put oil in with the intake tube going right over the right valve cover...Do they have to remove the spout to install the KB? 07-2937 I noticed that it looks like the spout has been removed from your SGT right valve cover too...does the stock cap go into the valve cover without any issues?

Yes, the spout is removed for the KB and the cap fits without any issues. You can buy a $2 funnel that screws right on the oil bottle that has an on/off switch and a plastic tube and add oil without a problem.

If I had to change it out every week or so I might like it a lot less ,but I'm satisfied with it bringing in that cooler air for now and it's been driven it in rain several times without a problem.

I would say the only difference would be cost and time spent keeping it clean are higher with the polished. I'd like to hear more about the heat dissipation theory.

The darker and more textured any object is the more effectively it will transfer heat. It's a two edged sword because it will also absorb heat quicker if the air flowing over it is warmer than the SC (e.g. hot day, cold engine/sc) but typically the engine/sc is hotter and air flowing over it is somewhat cooler so dark and textured is a benefit -- not a huge benefit, for sure, but a benefit nonetheless.

Another example: which car would you prefer to put your hand on in the sun ...a flat black one or a shiny white one? Here it seems obvious because you can see the sun, but thermal radiation happens in the non-visible spectrum too. In fact, infra-red transfers far more than visible light -- why a fire warms you ...even though the heat is *convecting* upward, it's radiating in all directions. Heat radiation is direct line-of-sight radiation. When someone stands in front of you -- between you and the fire -- you instantly feel cool because he's blocked the thermal radiation that was hitting you. Every object above absolute zero radiates heat if it is warmer than it's surroundings and absorbs heat if it is cooler.

In the old days some racers would paint their engines flat black, the underhood flat black (to accept the engine heat more readily) and the top of the hood white (to reject heat gain from the sun).

The cap fits the cam cover without issue. I use a funnel as well. It's no big deal.

Is there any appreciable difference in temperature between the two finishes? You also mentioned texture. Both casing finishes are smooth. I apologize if I seem argumentative, but I never considered that there might be any performance difference between the two. Cost and looks are all I gave thought to.

The KB (installed on an '08 at SAI) is the only SC with the Shelby badging, correct?

Yes.
