shelbymotorsports
Two page article on the 2010 GT500 in the May 4th 2009 issue of AutoWeek. Author basically covers the entire car with positive comments all around. Ends the article with, "So what do you get for almost 50 grand? The best, most versatile Mustang ever." Dubstang
Does anyone understand why the cobra had to be moved to the opposite side of the grill on the 2010 GT500 but not on the 2008-2009 GT500KR?? Doesn't make sense to me.
David Hawkins
Does anyone understand why the cobra had to be moved to the opposite side of the grill on the 2010 GT500 but not on the 2008-2009 GT500KR?? Doesn't make sense to me. My guess would be "Totally New Body Panels so they Moved the Snake over to be different as well".
David Hawkins
How can they fry the tranny so quickly? Fried 1st & 2nd synchro Sounds like to me that they were trying to "Speed Shift" with out using the Clutch.
Alexandros
My guess would be "Totally New Body Panels so they Moved the Snake over to be different as well". The cobra was moved for the air induct, for the engine...
shelbymotorsports
How can they fry the tranny so quickly? by the time it was our turn on the drag strip, each car had suffered multiple hard launches and the clutches and 1-2 gear synchros were fried. You have to realize that press cars are driven like stolen rental cars. By the article quote above it sounds like AW received the car after it was beat on by many other journalists. And they were still able to get 13's out of it Steve
Dubstang
The cobra was moved for the air induct, for the engine... Isn't it the same air induction system used for the KR?
shelbymotorsports
Isn't it the same air induction system used for the KR? In function yes but I'm sure its different physically because of the new 2010 sheetmetal. Steve
Canadian Bear
My issue is how can they say the 2010 is half a second quicker than the 09 yet they claimed since the 07 model that the GT500's were capable of low 4's!! Did we get some misinformation here?? Plus everthing I have read from carguide to other publications they say the 09 and 2010 are posting the same 0-60 times. I dunno Also does that mean my FR1 upgrade will not give me the claimed 40hp because my cobra is on the drivers side?? As said before inquiring minds want to know?? switz
The article says, "Think of the 2010 Shelby GT500 as a KR for less money." That should make dealers who have KR's sitting around happy.
