High every one, went to first Show yesterday in Ottawa at Sterling Ford. Came in second 06 and newer SHELBY class, got beat out for first by a 2007 Super Snake. It was a wet day but a great turn out, lots of Stangs and lots of SHELBYs. (Feels real good First Show First Trophy.) Lots of Complements on my ride makes you feel real good inside.

Be careful...it can become an obsession and addiction! Next thing you know you're marking a calendar and spending evenings cleaning and weekends in a folding chair reading a book parked at some park or dealership.

Don't do it!

Take it from me!

I second that. Congrats on your win :happy feet:

I do have a separate calendar just for shows and cruise nights. It is marked all of the way in to early November already  I won an Outstanding in Class at the Salt Lake Autorama in March. I had to change hat sizes after that to fit the big head it gave me. :hysterical: It is nice to get some recognition from fellow enthusiasts.

Weather permitting, I have been to more cruise nights this year already than I did all of last year. Next one is Wed. night. I am also entered in the Rainbow Casino Cruise and Show in Wendover Nevada Fathers Day weekend. It is addicting. I have two folding Mustang chairs and a matching table. It doesn't get much better than people who :camera:

Congrats on your award. It is a good feeling to be awarded a prize considering

the way we take car of our cars. Way to go.

It is addicting to attend these shows, I gotta remember to keep

everything else in balance.

Did my first show on Saturday also. I spent about 5-6 hours Friday night doing the Zaino thing in the garage with a dehumidifier running to cut down on the drying time. Although it wore me out, I have to admit that the shine on this baby is incredible, and it was well worth the effort. At the SVT Cobra Mustang Club show at Mall of Georgia Ford, I took first place in the "2007 - 2009 Shelby GT 500" class. My jaw just about hit the ground when Tony called my name. He even commented that I had spent the previous evening with Zaino. I really wasn't expecting any award and was just there to see all those sweet cars. What a great day it was!

What you have to remember is that in any "reputable" show it's all about the fit and finish and how clean your car is. There are LOTS of nice cars but if your the cleanest and everything is where it's supposed to be, you have as good a chance as anyone for a trophy. A clean GT will win over a dirty Super Snake any day, again, if it's a truly judged show nd not just what people like.

Good luck!

Congratulations on your win. :happy feet:

I don't enter shows or go to cruises expecting to win anything, either. I go for the cool cars and the people. Winning just sweetens the deal.

Exactly. I can see where these shows can be addicting. Especially when its all Mustangs. Plain old 'stangs from the '60s, up through the newest from Shelby. And there were some hot babes too!

BTW, a couple funny things. I saw one t-shirt that had on the back "When you drive a Ford, you don't need a Goodwrench". By the time I went looking for the guy to get a picture, he was gone.

And then, somebody had a towel with this on it:

ROFL! Those punk kids with the Poulan weed-whacker mufflers on a 4-banger ricer crack me up! They will never understand true American Muscle.

Love the towel.

I had a ricer see me pulling on to the freeway the other night. He must have been in the traffic flow somewhere behind me. He cut off several cars and made several dangerous lane changes just to get along side of me and punch it. I guess he had to show me :headscratch:

What a jerk. I'm not going to race somebody on a crowded freeway, risk lives,a ticket and impound just to show somebody what I've got. He should have seen the laugh me and the Harley along my other side had when we got off at the next exit, at his expense. Either one of us could have run circles around him.

That's already happened to me twice. I literally start laughing at them, which really pisses them off. One incident happened at a stop light. He was beside me and revving his little sewing machine engine. I rolled the passenger window down and turned down the stereo. He turned his down at was looking straight at me, and I used one of my most favorite lines: "Were you BORN that stupid, or have you been taking lesson from a moron?" Rolled the passenger window back up as he's shouting some obscenities. Light turns green. He stomps it. Didn't even squeal the tires. :hysterical:
