jrichard
It could be I'm behind the times, but I just got off the phone with the inventory manager for a national chain of dealerships and she told me the navigation system is now available for ordering. She looked it up in her ordering system while I was on the phone and said it costs $1,900 (or $1990?..now I can't remember). It's not available with the Shaker 1000 option. So, if you want it and you're order hasn't been pulled, give your dealer a call... I think I'll pass on it. I was thinking I might get it for fun, but I'll probably keep the car forever and I'm concerned it'll just be an unusable bit of electronics 10 or 15 years down the road. I think I'd rather buy a portable one that can be easily replaced. Any thoughts on this point?

On this beast, no. :happy feet:
Grabber
If you must have one, get a mobile unit as you said. 2k is alot of money when mapquest is free !
kraegar
Get a Tom Tom - much less $$, and replaceable later on. (I've used Garmin, Magellan, and Tom-Tom's, I *really* prefer Tom Toms. But all are pretty usable. - Tony
rpretzel
+1 I think I'll go with a Tom Tom. $2K seems a bit too pricey for some maps.
