blueshawk
I down loaded LiveWire Updater for the SCT and I downloaded the Bama 93 Race tune from Doug and it seemed to load OK. But the car doesn't start. So I put the 93 Brenspeed tune back in and it's OK thank God! So I downloaded the Bama again from the computer to the SCT and to the ECM again and it still doesn't work. I email Doug for help but haven't heard yet. Any ideas? Any one have this problem before?
azmartin
Have your restored the stock tune from the Brenspeed or whatever unit it is retained in Then tried the Bama tune? I have seen this give problems between units. You might try it. Good Luck

I've again tried reloading Livewire and reloading the file from Doug's email and then doing the process all over but to no avail. I think either the file is corrupted OR the original download of the file to the SCT has somehow corrupted that memory location in the SCT X3. However it is strange that everthing seems OK when the program is loading into the car????

I agree with maybe tying a new downloaded file. doesn't makes sense that it loads with no errors? I do remember I have after reloading a stock tune, I disconnect the battery foa few minutes, reconnected then performed a reload. Something must have glitched in my car. just a thought. I still think bama file has a problem.
StratGirl
Sounds like the Bama tune wasn't programmed for your car's specific processor code. Maybe they emailed you someone else's tune by accident. That would result in a load but no start situation like what you have. Hopefully they can email you a corrected version tomorrow. JeffJ
I would agree that it's probably a problem with the file. It maybe that the processor code that you or somebody gave to Doug may not have been acurate to your car or there is a file issue. This happened to my car when I first got my tune also. It would not start after the load. I called Doug, he instructed me to go out to my car, plug the SCT in and then give him the processor code directly out of the computer. The code in my computer was not the same as the sticker that was on it. Once I gave him that, he sent me a new file via e-mail, and bam, started right up and ran like a dream. So I would guess that the file you have is not happy somewhere.

StratGirl
How do you read the code? You would have to have given them the code when you ordered your tune. Guess we found the problem! Look in the engine compartment, and check the fuse box located on the passenger side. Next to the fuse box you will find your silver CPU. On the CPU or the bracket holding the CPU will be a small white sticker. Printed on this sticker you will find your processor code. It will be 3 letters followed by 1 number. Get this to Doug. All will be well.

I had to plug in my SCT programmer and pull the code directly from the CPU. Doug had me do this while I was on the phone with him. Sent me a new file, and all was good. I bet the Brenspeed tune changed the strategy code. Anyway, I plugged in the X3 and got the strategy code and sent him an email this morning with it. I hope this is the fix. If not, then I'm not gonna mess with it any more. I scared the hell out of me when the car wouldn't start and I thought I really f*&ked it up! I also have lost my 87 octane Benspeed tune. blueshawk
Sh_t happens good call Stratgirl !!! Bama 93 octane race tune is incredible nite and day !!! Well Sh_t does happen! Apparently when I downloaded the file to the X3 the first time, it must have corrupted the memory location of the tune I was overwritting (Brenspeed 87 octane) and now it won't write any tune to it. I've written to it over and over and it seems fine but the car just won't start with it. I've gotten another file from Bama and tried it but it doesn't work. So I'm left with the option of taking the chance of overwritting another tune file (Brenspeed 91 octane) or leaving well enough alone. If it does work I'll then have the 93 Bama 93 Brenspeed and the stock tunes on the X3. If it fries another file I'll have only the 93 Brenspeed and the stock tunes. When, I had a problem and he kept calling to make sure there were no more problems!!!

After several attempts Doug said these files should work and he's never seen this problem with his files. I admit I was just about ready to give up, but he said he'll try one more thing and sure enough that fixed it. I don't know what that ONE THING was but it worked. So it wasn't my fault after all. I do have Brenspeed sending me my files so I have them on hand too. BTW, the Bama 93 Race tune is very responsive. It's a blast.
