Obama Ignorance

Recommended Posts

Here is a quote from his exccellency bho president for life re the bankruptcy of Chrysler.

"And so, you know, we've got to strike a balance. I don't want to be - I'm not an auto engineer. I don't know how to create an affordable, well-designed plug-in hybrid. But I know that, if the Japanese can design an affordable, well-designed hybrid, then, doggone it, the American people should be able to do the same."

This ignorant bastard hates America so much he is totally unaware of the American hybrids that out perform the Japaneese autos. The Ford Escape Hybrid and the Fusion Hybrid. He thinks the only people in this world that count are non-Americans.

No, based on the "One's" consistant remarks redgarding MY country (ie: G20 Summit, Arab TV interviews etc.) I would have to say the OP is closer to the mark!

A guy can pick on his little sister all he wants to at home; but when someone at school makes fun of her he had better be ready to KICK some :censored:

Funny but I don't see that character trait in "The Awaited One".................................

If he really hated this Country his comment would be;

" :censored: IT !!!!!! IMPORT ALL THE TOYOTAS AND HONDAS BECAUSE

WE CAN'T DO :censored: RIGHT" !!!!!!!!!!

Now if Obama said this......I would agree with the Poser........

Much is conjecture and opinion. But based on his statements in the campaign, in office, and this statement it is apparent he admires other countries more than the US. He stated how we can learn from Europe. And again, he totally ignored American accomplishments re the auto industry. Ford qualtiy rivals Toyota. He should be complimenting US achievements rather than telling us to look up to the Japaneese. He is a socialist and believes in the European format of business with the government controlling factories, banks, etc. He believes the government knows more than we do. It is the anti-thesis of American way of life and capitalism.

I agree that we definately make quality cars and can compete with the world market.......

However your "CONJECTURE AND OPINION" of our President is way off base.........

Then why did he tell us we can learn from Europe? Why did he slight the American engineers and mention only the Japaneese?

Not really. I also get the feeling he thinks we are second rate and unable to perform or achieve anything. His statements and actions ad up to this. He constantly is speaking about how every other country does this or that better than us and how we need to emulate these other countries. I get the feeling that he thinks being president is a consolation prize and that he would much rather be prime minister of some European country. Most people I know and speak with also feel this way about him.

This ignorant bastard hates America so much he is totally unaware of the American hybrids that out perform the Japaneese autos. The Ford Escape Hybrid and the Fusion Hybrid. He thinks the only people in this world that count are non-Americans.

What "ignorance"?

The 'Ford Escape Hybrid and the Fusion Hybrid" ARE NOT "plug-in hybrid" cars. None of US car manufacturers currently produce a plug-in hybrid vehicle the Volt, if it sees the light of day, will be the first and perhaps the best example so far. Maybe you remember President Bush with the prototype Prius plug-in hybrid with the 100MPG plastered on the sides? That car will be out later this year. The Ford Escape plug-in hybrid is said to be coming I think in 2012. Of course what's affordable...?

Today’s hybrids, such as the ones you mentioned, run off a rechargeable battery and a conventional, internal-combustion engine. When the battery runs low, the engine recharges the battery. A plug-in hybrid works much the same way, only it uses an improved battery, which can be recharged using ordinary household current. That’s much cheaper than recharging the battery using a gasoline engine as a generator, especially during off-peak hours for household current.

Now from an automotive point of view, the president could also have questioned why U.S. automakers are so far behind on more conventional hybrids, like the Toyota Prius, instead of picking on plug-in hybrids specifically. The Toyota Prius pretty much dominates the U.S. market for hybrids with Toyota recently introducing the third generation of the Prius, while the U.S. companies are still rolling out their first generation of hybrids, such as the ones you mentioned, in much more limited numbers.

What you left out was the President went on to acknowledge that Chrysler and GM are building some “terrific” cars, but he challenged them to, “give me a plan that plays to your strengths.”

The president also said that he wanted to “disabuse people of the notion that we enjoy meddling in the private sector. When we came into office, if you had told me the banks are hummin’, and autos are sellin’, and all I would have to deal with was Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, getting healthcare passed, energy independence – and a pandemic flu – I would take that deal.”

The fact that he mentioned "plug in hybrid" in the preceding sentence compounds his ignorance as he either is unaware that we make hybrids or does not know the difference between the two vehicles.

Yes you may fix it. Actually I wish you would fix the always damn small print format so I can spot my own mistakes. Why is the print so very small. But I will take responsibility for not proof reading.

I am not that computer savvy. However, as a moderator, why do we have to type in micro-print? I try to enlarge the font after typing a message but I do not know if we can do that for a title of a thread.
