Photoshoped some 18" CS69 wheels onto my car

Recommended Posts

I've been struggling with a wheel choice going on 18 months. I've started like 3 or 4 threads on this topic during this period.

I like the 20" grey razors but dont' want the harsher ride, slower acceleration, extra unsprung weight. I don't like the look of the 18" razors as much plus you may not be able to get an upgraded brake package even with a 24mm offset.

I love the Wheel replica Magnum 500 style wheels but again I could't get upgraded brakes. While the GT500 wheels would enable me to get the brembos, they just don't excite me.

I think the black CS69s look great on a black car but didn't think it would look good on mine...until I photoshopped two sets of black 18"s.

Also photoshop some hyperblack ones.

So this combo keeps the 18" advantages in performance and ride, allows for bigger brembo brakes, and looks great. :)

I think they are a great choice! I bought mine for the EXACT same reasons you are considering. As for the color, I almost bought Hyper Black, but ended up with Black and love them. I think the Black have more of the Magnum 500 look than the Hyper Black. Also, IMO the Hyper Black wheel looks older and the Black looks more contemporary. Make sure you see the Hyper Black up close before you buy them The painted areas the Black wheel just kind of disappear. On the Hyper Black, the painted areas are very defined and change the look of the wheel IMO. My vote is for Black, but I am bias...

I put the black CS69s on my H car for the reason you shared with the GT350. I like the black and it looks good on the blue car also.

I have the 18" and they are great considering the 06 H came with 17" wheels.

I prefer the black. But then again I'm biased.

I do agree that with the black ones, the black area just seems to disappear,

making the aluminum spokes more defined.

Mine are also 18's and I used the stock tires. I'll mount some wider rears once these

wear out

I like top or bottom pictures more than the middle.

By the way, is that lighthouse in New Jersey? It looks familiar....

My car will be done in a couple weeks and I have the Anthracite in color 69's which I guesss seem to be the least popular based on this poll. I personally think they look great in person, on their website they do not look as good as in person. I also have all the Terlingua decals so the silver in the decals will make the Anthracite pop out.

If I were you I would get the top black ones becuase there can't be another vista blue with anthracite in color besides mine  and according to Shelby Wheels they do not have the 69's available at this time in Anthracite color :happy feet:

Thanks for all the comments.

Light House is Cape Henry VA.

Surprised the stock SGT wheels fit the CS69s. Tire calculator I used said 8.5 was the widest recommended for the stock tires

Look forward to seeing the pix of the grey 69s on the Blue SGT.

I had an issue with a shop putting on tires that the recommended rim width was .5 wider for the tires I was installing -- 285's on a 9" rim. I called Goodyear about it and they basically told me .5" either why beyond the recommend rim width is OK, but not 'Recommended'.

Also, if you do decide to buy the CS69's, I bought mine from BuyWheelsToday.com. They have the 18's for $209/wheel and their service was great. Noone has discussed it yet, but IMO you need the blue center caps....

I bought mine from the same place. 2 days for delivery.

And the blue caps would look much better on the Blue SGT.

Does anyone know if you have to pay extra for the blue ones, or you just let them know to send them when you order. I can always use 4 spares if it doens't cost extra.

Wow, Swede and I agreeing on wheels. What's next...KC666 and I agreeing on politics?

The Black, The Black, of course another biased opinion.

These CS69 wheels look great PERIOD. I recommend because they do give that nostalgic look of the magnum500 , and they are easy to clean.

I think i was one of the first to put on black CS69 on a white SGT, and it was a great decision, ive never looked back, and am 100% positive it was the right decision.

Good luck on your choice

Ryan

Back to the drawing board...I saw this picture and I just don't like how there isn't an deep dish option on the 18s...just too shallow for my taste.

I love how the 20 CS69s have a wider option for the rear but I don't want 20s' :banghead:

Man it's so hard to find a wheel I like in 18s where you could use the GT500 brembos.

I kinda like the new FR500s 18x9s/18x10s seen in this thread...

Yeah those FR500s look really nice if I were you thats what I would get or the BLACK CS69's, I dont think the anthracite CS69's would look good on your car at all :hysterical:

Hopefully it should be done next Friday here is a little bit of what is being done:

Painting the hood, fenders, bumper, area around windshield.

New hood stripe, bumper stripe, and New Generation hood scoop

New Grill, bumper, running horse emblem

Lower grill and PIAA driving lights

Front Shelby Blue 6 piston brakes (Plus Series), front stainless lines, stillen rotors

Rear Stillen rotors, rear stainless lines, and upgraded pads.

New 18 inch CS69's Anthracite with blue caps and Nittos 555's

Shelby gauge pod with gauges

DVD navigation system

Redline Hood struts

Dead pedals

AND a few other things I am keeping secret :shift:

Its pretty scary seeing the car in a million pieces

I just can't have any more GT500's pass me like I'm standing still

When its all done I will post a thread about all the upgrades

Hey, I have 20's on mine with 275/35 I think and as long as the road isn't wreck it's smooth as hell. I love on the highway and it makes the car look sleaker!!! Tire rack has some great selections, I have bought a;; my tires and wheels from them.
