Supercharger Noise

Recommended Posts

Got my Super Snake back from Shelby in Vegas. I am hearing a noise from I believe the front of the supercharger. Kenne Bell is helping me diagnose, but I thought I would query my fellow Team Shelby members to see what your collective intelligence might say. Here are the two video clips:

Ken Christy has asked me to see what happens as RPMs are slightly elevated which I have not done yet, but will do as soon as my work schedule will allow.

if you didn't have it before, I'm leaning towards the KB.......sounds like a bearing noise. Did they add the lube? Did they add enough? or did they add after they relized they forgot (not good as maybe they ran the bearings dry)

+1

Sounds like a bad bearing.

Definitely sounds like a bad or dry (or both) bearing. I just replaced some in my Jeep CJ-7 that sounded almost exactly the same.

THIS IS WHY THEIR SHOULD BE A WARRANTY

John was your car doing that when you picked it up or did you notice after you got her home?

Not real sure - could have been from the start. But Kenne Bell doesn't seem too alarmed (SC does have a warranty). So until I get a chance for more diagnostic, I'll just hang loose.

This is why I feel a warranty is mandatory on these cars, when they break they will be expensive, hope it is ok.
