And we will be making a stop in Vegas gtss

We have done Oklahoma City to the coast. its a great trip. check out lunch at Rich Ford Sales Inc. Albuquerque NM. the mustang cafe is located here. Front end of 66 mustang is sticking out side of building. food is great but meal size is huge. check out the BBQ places in the texas panhandle. just remember when you ask for large its big! enough food to feed three men and a boy. If you can't find your favorite soda there, I'll buy your lunch! Across the street is an old historic round barn that's been restored. What's your e.t.a. for OKC? Would love to cruise through town with you all.
hispony
We went west to east after January's Vegas Bash. Picked up 66 in Kingman and were on & off all the way to St. Louis. My wife and cousin just did Vegas to Mustang, OK with Mustangs Across America for the 45th. Feel free to ask any questions about our trips. You HAVE TO go to Pops after dark. 66 foot tall, color changing pop bottle.
sprint200
Also, if you all are planning to overnight anywhere near OKC; there's a B&B just one block off of Hwy 66 in my hometown Edmond, just west of the University of Central Oklahoma called the Arcadia Inn. The Hall's are very gracious hosts. We used to live just next door.

azmartin
we are now in Chicago, going to play tourist today and then head west tomorrowgtss Please post any cool info or stops as you find them. We may be doing the trip from west to east later this year. When you get to AZ there are some neat old stores and sites on the original 66 route. Holbrook, Williams, also for a short quick stop, take the Parks exit about 10 miles after Flagstaff, turn left 1/4 mile down is the original Parks store. Kinda neat. 66 signs on the highway there to. ejrail
here's some vegas pic's from my suite at Planet Hollywood. Enjoy Scotty Scotty, I hope those Westgate time share sales weasles didn't pester you too much. I have worked for the Westgate for going on 8 years now in Park City. We have those guys up here, too. I am always quick to tell people I am in operations, not sales, when they find out I work for Westagte. It avoids I am hit up every time we go to Vegas too. Telling them I work for the company always makes them back off. I find the worst are the Tahiti Village people. If you have seen their property, I don't know how they call say it is on The Strip. You can barely see the Strip from their place. I'll be down there in June for a family vacation and again over Halloween for the Las Vegas Nationals(drags) :happy feet: Did you get out to SAI? No trip to Veags is complete without investing money in the gift shop and eating at the Corner Cafe. Beats losing money in a casino. At least you know you'll get something worthwhile. :happy feet: Have a safe trip. Erik

gtss
we arrived in Albequerque Sunday afternoon, Mother day on the Mother road, over all things are going well, thanks everyone for the offers of help. Cars have been running great, but had some old farmer in Oklahoma back into my drivers door while my car was sitting at a gas pump. I just about died. The only saving grace is at least it did not disable my car so we can complete the trip Ijust installed the T5z trans this past winter and I am sure thankful. averaging approx 22mpg, and thats going through all the little whistle stop towns and stopping for most of the sights, you can't possibly stop at them all. gtss
tragically my trip has come to an end. A severely intoxicated woman just outside Gallup,NM deliberately rear ended me today. For reasons unknown this person intentionally tried to hurt/kill us. We are OK. bumps and bruises, sore muscles but OK We are carrying on in a rental (blah) but I'm certain that my car is totalled She has been charged with DWI and aggravated assault, somehow that doesn't help me finish a trip of a lifetime or help me get my car home and rebuilt

JeffJ
OMG!!! I can't believe that. Two hits in one trip and the second totals your car. That is absolutely insane. So sorry to hear that.... Best wishes, I hope that she had insurance? I'm sick to my stomach seeing that. Very sorry.
