andrewnagle1964
Has anyone used these yet ? The innovative Champion Double Platinum Power spark plug (p/n 7989) utilizes a one-piece high-thread design that replaces two-piece original equipment and/or aftermarket plugs utilized in these engines. When servicing the engines, professionals and do-it-yourselfers often find that plugs can separate during removal, potentially leaving the base trapped within the engine's cylinder head. The Champion one-piece design solves this problem. The new plug also features an extended ceramic post that virtually eliminates flash over, and an advanced J-gap configuration that is easier to set and helps ensure more efficient ignition performance. And I am wondering why I am looking at these if I have 0 degree Ford Racing spark plugs.....???? Thanks Andrew

Thanks Andrew Looks nice and sound like a winner but champions are know as once they get black they never come back. As in gas fouling or anything else Autolites were always used in the dealer that, I worked. I use due alot engine and computer work for fords at my cousin garage and alot fords came in with rough idle's or stalling. Nine out of 10 it was the champion plugs causing the problem the lincoln LSC were the most affected by champion. The back yard mechanic would install them end up at my station, I'd throw in autolites bump the timiing and remove the vacuum line of the fuel regulator and you had an animal of a car. I use to do it to the crown vic's at work not plugs but timing and vacuum line. Anthony
69dejavue
Be sure to use the anti-seize paste on the new plugs. Hopefully change out the old one's before they are stuck to the heads.

slbgtsc
I went with the Brisk one piece plug from Brenspeed. http://www.brenspeed.com/3vr14s.html I had been using the colder Autolite plug but the two piece scared me as I've had friends that had them break. 07SGT
Can / should the colder racing plugs from FRPP be used on a totally stock engine? Any re-calibration / tuning necessary? Are the Ford racing plugs one piece? What effect on a totally stock engine?
