leepinlen
I am going to attend a track school next week and was wondering what to use to put numbers on the sides of my car that won't hurt the paint. I read that some use shoe polish for temp numbers but I would feel better if someone on this site can give me their opinions. I was thinking of using painters tape but I got a vista blue/white stripes. Thanks

You can buy numbers at Infineon at Wine Country Motorsports. Or come by our place on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday and we'll make you some. I'll be at Infineon all day. sprint200
Thanks, But I wont know my # until I get up there that morning. can I use painters tape or shoe polish on the quarter windows? I used shoe polish on the quarter windows my first season. Just don't try to prime the sponge on the window as it splatters all over the paint below.............. If using tape on the paint, just make sure to use a detail spray right before putting it on. Have fun and see if you can't swing a ride in Jay's car sometime too (WP64)
05FSTBK
I don't know. Just bring some white masking tape and get creative. I bought numbers at Infineon but I know friends that used blue painters tape. No ill effects?
leepinlen
Thanks for the replies, I will try the painters tape first, blue tape on a blue car...I did get a ride in the track car with Bruce Griggs and it was crazy fast and the handling was unbeliveable. Looking forward to getting my feet wet on the track again, last time was 25 years ago racing karts at Sears Point & Laguna Seca.

Several online shops sell static cling gumball numbers; but I just had a local sign company make some for me. That way I got to choose the font style, size and kerning.......
