Ford Racing Axle Girdle

Recommended Posts

I'm actually going to have this installed when they swap out my 3:55s for the 3:73s . . . . . . . . . .

My hope is that the Fay's2 Watts link I'm going to install after that will still fit.

The original paint has already started to flake/rust off the factory girdle.

That one doesn't clear all adjustable panhard bars. Check clearences. I couldn't use it with BMR's. LPW makes one that clears better for about $169.00.

I saw your car at Tasca the other day GT500-07. I thought it was nice before. I'm sure you'll be happy with what is being done now. :happy feet:

I tried installing this cover a few weeks ago and could not manuever it between the panhard bar and ring gear to bolt it up. I didn't want to pull the panhard bar at the time so I just replaced the OEM cover. I'll just have the girdle installed whenever I replace the gears with 3.73s. I believe there will be enough clearance with the stock panhard once it's bolted up to the pumpkin. Is the BMR bar thicker than the stock bar?

I got word from Jim Fay - the FAY's2 Watts Link will clear it so long as you get a "low profile" girdle.

I sent Mr. Fay the link directly to the part on Ford Racing's website - his response was that the Fays2 would fit this FRPP Girdle because it is the "low profile" design. I plan to give him a call today to confirm this. Would hate to get the gears done and then get the Watts Link in and find that it doesn't fit.

Spoke with Mr. Fay today - He's been asked this question several times - This Girdle will clear the Fays2 Watts link.

However, if you've already installed this Watts Link, the Link portion sits directly infront of the girdle and will need to be removed prior to swtiching out the cover.

This is good news!! I'll be ordering both my Watts Link and my FRPP Rear Diff Girdle cover this weekend!!
