thewheelman
Hey guys/gals, rode around almost all day Saturday and Sunday with the top down. Noticed that the trim just above the passenger window appears to be caught on the inside of the frame--for lack of a better description. You can stick your finger in behind it and pull it out, right up to the end (toward the front of the car), but then it's too tight to pull out. I've found that I have to have the top in transition to pull it out to where it's supposed to be. Appears to be glue residue on the frame member this soft trim is supposed to be covering. Only the passenger side is getting hung up, but looks like the driver's side is loose too--I can see the glue residue or whatever it is there too. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks! I am having a hard time envisioning the issue. Only issue I've seen with my vert top is some sort of high frequency flapping noise (almost a buzz) around 40MPH coming from passenger rear area, I suspect from somewhere in the (lowered) vert top. -TC

Only issue I've seen with my vert top is some sort of high frequency flapping noise (almost a buzz) around 40MPH coming from passenger rear area, I suspect from somewhere in the (lowered) vert top. -TC I have had a few minor issues but I don't think this describes any. One of my cables makes noise over bumps. Also the cover in the back for the tray area pulled a grommet out when something must not have fallen into place once. My biggest current problem is that the window molding that runs along the door, at the bottom of the window, on the outside of the car, won't stay down. It keeps popping up out of the window track??? relopez98
Haven't had any issue w/ the trim on my vert; only issue I had was with the weather stripping/rubber at the window seal; The driver's side (half was rulled inside the trim and the other half was out of the trim)....till I rolled it into the trim to make it match. Also, the window on the passenger side had to be recalibrated a bit by the dealership b/c it wasn't closing as snug as the driver's side.
SkyPilot
I don't know exactly what you mean but there is a TSB on the vert rear windows for the seal if that helps you.
thewheelman
Thanks folks, I'll try to get a pic of the area in question, I just haven't had time or the batteries charged in the camera!
Hudy
A couple of comments on the vert tops....I had the my top repleaced on my 07 GT 500 over the winter...I was experiencing wear on the sides of the top...Ford had a TSB on this and replaced the top..However, the dealer had to send the Shelby out to a contractor for the work...Got the car back an top looked good...However, when in Flordia and I first put the top down and traveled down the road I noticed that the top material covering the hard valance was fluttering in the wind...She is back at the dealer for that issue and some issues with the small dents on the rear quarter... Anyone with a vert had this issue?
SSSNAKE
some issues with the small dents on the rear quarter... Anyone with a vert had this issue? This phenomenon has been covered extensively on the forum (just do a search). From what I could determine by researching the forum the "dents" could be caused by the car having been on a frame lift, as these dents have been found on "new" not yet titled vehicles as well as owners vehicles that just seem to have them "appear". thewheelman
Ok, finally got pics to go with this post. You're looking out the passenger window from the driver's seat. It appears this part of the top liner has come un-glued and gets caught like this when I put the top up. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have glue residue on my vert since day one, but never any problems w/ it closing and w/ the "flap" coming up over the trim. The dealer should be able to help. flyinghigh217
thewheelman.....wow that is messed up. My top goes down almost every time i get in my car (6500 miles on it so far) and i have no issues like what your pics show, fwiw. BUT, this last weekend i had top down and did a quick 155 mph blast on a back road, and my rubberish piece that is above the mirror at the top of the windshield (bad location description sorry), that the top sits on when in the down position, came loose in the center section and started flapping in the wind. when i stopped i put it back in place, but now im worried it is gonna come loose just driving down the highway with top down. i have not driven any more since it happened. anyone else had this issue??
