speedo still off?

Had dealership install 3.73 gears-used oem-Ford gears not the FRPP gears, nice giddeup and don't hear any whine from the rearend (other than Missy as I still drive like a kid). Dealership used laptop to reflash speed/odo calibration to the KR-3.73 option. The speedo seems very optomistic. Could it be that the KR has 20" rims and that is what the PCM is calibrated to now? I saw someone post what the rpm-speed should be at in 6th at 70 or 80mph or 5th at different speeds but can't find the post. I understand that once my next addition-cai and tune will come with flash tuner that I can select gear size and tire/rim size. Anyone care to chime in here?

Not sure why it is off.. The KR comes with 18" rims & tires so that is not the case. If you can hold out for awhile I would wait till you do your next addition CAI and when you get your handheld tuner you will be able to take care of it. For the mean time if it bothers you that much see if anyone you know has a GPS and put it in your car to see how far you really are off. Hope that helps

Yea, really no biggie. thanks for the reply. Could it be that she gets to 80 that much faster now??? Anyone know what I should be tachin at 70 in 5th or say 80 in 6th???

I'am sorta having the same problem--Just had 3.73's installed Fri and told the dealer DO NOT

put your tester on and try to change the speedo adjustment cause I the have a cai tune in it and

if he flashed the cpu I might lose it. Guess what? Anyway I speedo reads 67 mph and my gps

reads 60 and a big old check engine light.(running lean) I was able (lucky) get cai tune put back

in :happy feet: and the check engine light goes away :happy feet: and set the ratio for the 3.37's with my sct x3 and still the speedo reads 67 and the gps reads 60 :headscratch:

Sure wish I did to the 3.73's a long time ago--love them :shift:
