07SGT4545
Has anyone added the lighted cupholder to their car that wasn't equipped with it? Just wondering if it is a plug-n-play deal or if it is more involved than that.

Your best bet is to get one from a wrecked S197 at a Junk Yard. I actually work at a large late model salvage yard here in Ohio, but we haven't parted any of the new ones with the ambient lighting option. Figured I would just wait until we part one out if it needs more than just the top half of the console, but had thought about ordering a new one if it was a plug in proposition. I'm pretty sure I have an unused connector under the console and was hoping that was what it was for. I will keep researching and see what I can find out. Thanks again. 08SGT1977
I have this option from the factory and in my opinion it is kind of a gimmick. I rarely turn it on. It is supposed to add the ooh and ah factor (pleasant mood lighting?) I suppose. I love the car but this is not that big a deal.
Dig-It
It is a gimmick, but it also hypnotizes my two boys and keeps them from getting too rowdy in the back seat.

WildAzCat
I really didn't need it. I seem to always turn it on by accident... and it just happens to always be on pink.
kahmann
I actually like the ambient lighting. Without it, the cockpit is awfully dim at night. Ken
